The pairing is rather random, they just happened to be popular at the same time at the same place. Also I like to draw them both.

Sari isn't human, but not really a robot either. (let's say, less of a robots than Transformers). The show ended before her origin got a proper resolution, sadly.

it's unclear. protoforms seem to be the "basis" of a transformer in TFA, kind of the physical counterpart of the spark. most transformers are the result of the "fusion" of a protoform and a big mechanical skeleton. Sari is a protoform that assimilated human DNA instead of a mechanical shell. she may be 100% artificial with advanced nanotech imitating human biology, or plainly organic+robot. not sure. I like the nanotech idea better.

Oh, kinda like how in Beast Wars they actualy had Animal instincts? Like they actually went crazy in one episode cuz they stayed in beast mode for so long. and they used those forms to counteract all of the highly unstable energon to prevent from over loading.
