So final part of the sequence.... the crisis is over, everybody's safe, and Asuka's body... well... it just can't give anymore. The fight to save the city is over. Now the battle to stop herself from dying has begun.

Little lesyay moment here... are they best friends? Comrades in arms? Maybe Rei just owes Asuka something big and rushing her to the hospital is the best way to satisfy this honor (or at least keeping Asuka alive will ensure that it will be satisfied in the future)?
