Description
this started up as a speedpaint and then I put some more time into it and in the end I'm glad I did. Im very happy with the way it turned out, except for the helmet... looks abit weird... hmmm..yepyep, being a lover of the W40k universe and the Empire under the eternal emperor I saw it fitting do do a more "close to the real thing" fanart piece(rather than that blood angel I did a week or so ago)
Ultramarine?, Crimson Fist? not completely sure
after some advice I state that he is an ex-death-watch-space-marine... chapter still unknown though...
:edit: chapter unknown... NO LONGER!
KageRyuuUji has wisely suggested "Silver Skulls" and I, the artist, have decreed it to be so...
so here you have it; Battle brother Scipio Tessio Tiberius, ex-death watch marine of the Silver Skulls.

I love his stance, and very nice detail! The fact that he's a Devastator just puts this picture above on my interests

Very nice, but the head is just way, way too tiny. Like, absurdly small. It's straight-up unintentional comedy gold and completely cancels out the terror this battle brother would otherwise instill. The fact that there is so much room left inside of his collar makes it look almost intentional.
Still, the technique is very accomplished. The colours are vibrant and feel alive, you've got nice shading and overall it looks like it came straight out of a genuine Space Marine codex.

... The thing about space marines though, is the stupidly large bodies and heads. If you haven't really realized most marines look like this... -.-" I get where you're coming from though, because I agree with you xD
Just a heads up, there is supposed to be a head stripe thing, but I think you know that, being a 40k fan and all...

It could be after his tour of duty. I think I read that they get to keep those shoulder-pads and wear them when they return to thier original unit. More seals never hurt anyone though.

~Marcodalidingo as always used an excellent color pallete, end of discussion. The highlights and color variations are well used and ballanced. The latin inscription isn't noticeable at first, but it still plays terrific part to the feeling. The head of the marine is controversial, but personally I like it, just makes you think what huge part of him is robotic rather than his human body, which alredy is twice as big as Chuck Norris.
Three things are bothering me a bit, the left shoulder pad doesn't look as round as the right one. The fingers don't seem quite right when they reach below that grip of the gun. And the background to his left at the waist is making me wonder whether it's a background or plate body.
Overall always a lovely piece
The Artist thought this was FAIR

White scars?
Seriously though terrific work. The head is a touch small, admittedly, but it's often difficult to get that right with the way their armour makes them so out of proportion. Great work on the heavy bolter, its seemingly more defined than the rest of him as if he empathizes more with the weapon than himself (or maybe I'm delusional, who knows).
I like the way you made the inscribed latin script on his shoulder guard. The way you painted it adds a terrific feel to the whole piece with the almost dark and smoky texture making it up, particularly the way he seems to exude it like he leaks war. I particularly like how, even though you may not of had to, you still made the knee plate peeking up with more inscriptions.
Great work. Very emotionally poignant in a more subtle way.

Hey thanx a bunch for the kind words
and yes; the head is a bit small, but mostly that was to convey the feeling of the space marines being titans among men(ie looking more "like they should" rather than the actual miniatures)
