Description
The design differences between Xiaolin Showdown and Xiaolin Chronicles, namely Raimundo and Kimiko.Was it really necessary to change the designs? ):
They belong to Warner Bros and Disney respectively.

Actually, I was wondering about this.Β I only caught the last episode of the sneak preview, but with all the differences, is this supposed to be an alternate universe?

It may or may not be. Some fans guess that this takes place after season 2 as an alternate world because Raimundo's promotion is not there. But the producers claim it is a continuation after season 3.

It's actually the continuation ofΒ Xiaolin Showdown. The rights toΒ Xiaolin Showdown is owned by Warner Brothers and they (artists and fans) wanted to bring it back. WB's said no. So now its produced by a Different company. It airs on Disney instead of WB.
Due to the series' production being managed in Canada, it is law that any voice actor working for a television show must be a citizen of Canada in order to work. So we lost some original voice actors as they are American.
As the original Xiaolin Showdown was created by Warner Bros, they hold the rights to all Shen Gong Wu names. So, every Shen Gong Wu received slightly modified names; ie. Orb of Tornami became Orb of Torpedo. Some characters got transformations; ie. Dojo is yellow instead of green.
I think the only thing that bugs me was the fact that they ignored that Raimundo became the 'leader' of the Dragons at the end of Showdown.

I wonder why they're ignoring that Raimundo became the leader, I really liked that at the end of Xiaolin Showdown.Β Is it just because Omi is the show's mascot?Β I'm also wondering if I missed anything that might explain Chase's change of character, in the episode I saw he seemed less calm calculating evil warriorΒ than he used to be, and if I remember right he never had much interest in Shen Gong Wu, yet he had his new student?Β Apprentice?Β Partner?Β Whatever the dark haired girl is to him, steal the vault's supply.

Ping Pong seemed like a fun character, but I can't get over that name.

I think I'll just wait until the show premiers to watch the other two episodes, I think it's just a few weeks away anyway.Β It'll give me something to look forward to.

If you want to voice act/ act /etc in any Canadian show you must be Canadian. So if you wanted to be in say Degrassi. You have to be Canadian. It's due to a lot of legal issues. Don't know much about it as I am not Canadian.
Perhaps they ignored it on the simple fact that its a new show. Perhaps Rai lost the right or something. I hope they sort of touch on it. Or maybe he is their leader and we just haven't seen enough yet.
Shadow is supposed to be his partner I think. Love interest? Not sure. Daughter maybe? Not much has been said about her yet.
I think Ping Pong's nick name is cute. It's a little distracting and I do like that they brought another character in, but we will have to see how he fits in with the others yet. He's he going to be a copy of Omi or is he going to be his own character? Is he going to be as dense as Omi? Things we just haven't seen yet. I will give the show a few more episodes but I don't like how Showdowns became 3D. I am really not a fan of it. I think it was better the old way.Β

One thing that ticks me off about the new show is that Raimundo no longer wears his necklace.Β It was his signature item, and I don't understand why he doesn't have it now.
