I used parts from this chart. Federation 2421-2422 Tzenkethi Taskforce by Wild-Endeavour on DeviantArt________________________
*Update* came up with the class names and info for these two ships for me.

Ronin-Class Patrol Destroyer
Built alongside the New Orleans class frigate; the Ronin-Class Patrol Destroyer was one of the few dedicatd warships to take part in the Cardasian Border Conflict between 2347 and 2360. In some respects; the Ronin can be thought of as a precursor to the Defiant-class escort; in that unlike many ships of her erea, she was designed to operate with minimal crew in relatively spartan conditions. Much like her future descendant; she was also incredibly over-powered for her size; one of the smallest star ships ever outfitted with a quad-nacelle configuration; combined with her stripped-down amenities, and proportionally powerful warp core and impulse drives; this made the Ronin-Class ideal for rapid response and patrol operations.
For a vessel of her size and era, the Ronin-class runs heavily armed; equipped with then state of the art phaser strips with a near 360 fire arc coverage. She also borrows a design element rarely seen since the Klingon-war-era design of the Miranda-class; her ventral hull sports a roll-bar style structural element with a dedicated torpedo pod. Between her agility and her heavy firepower, the Ronin was ideally suited to engage Cardasian vessels far larger than herself; particularly when employed in wolfpack-style small formations, or as escorts for larger New Orleans, Cheyenne, or Ambassador-class vessels.
Though Cardasian captains at first dismissed the threat potential of such a relatively small starship; the Ronin-class would gain something of a imfamous reputation among the Cardasian fleet; a fearsome embodiment of the technological advantage the Federation held over the Cardasian union. This reputation didn’t often translate to Starfleet Command however; as the Ronin was often viewed as a “dead-end” starship; doomed to an early end to its career when the border conflict was resolved. Given her limited use in other roles, the ships would indeed largely be relegated to unglamorous assignments or decommissioning in the inter-war period. Most would however find a second life upon the outbreak of the Dominion war; when many Ronin-class vessels were brought back into service for their primary combat-oriented role as part of the rapidly assembled fleets tasked with holding back the Dominion’s relentless advance into Federation space.
Prominence-Class Science Vessel
Built in relatively small numbers; the Prominence -class Science Vessel is very much a ship of her time; the Federation’s golden age of peaceful exploration and research. She was designed to act as something of a stripped down, and shorter-range cousin to the Nebula and Galaxy class exploration cruisers; even retaining the variable mission pod hardpoint on her dorsal hull from the Nebula-class. She was intended to act as a dedicated science, research, and survey craft; intended for assignments where the allocation of a Nebula or Galaxy class vessel would be overkill, but were beyond the capabilities of the now extremely aged Oberth-class.
Partially as a consequence of her stop-gap-style of design process; the Prominence -class recycles a great deal of pre-existing modules in her construction. By in large her primary hull is identical to that of the earlier Challenger-class, and the connecting pylon to her secondary hull to that of the Freedom-class scout; however, the addition of a minimal secondary hull and dedicated navigational deflector array vastly expands her mission profile when compared to the either. Combined with the variable payload hardpoint; these design attributes made the Prominence-class an incredibly flexible and incredibly economical starship.
Like most vessels of her time; the Prominence-class is far from an ideal vessel in the face of actual combat; boasting only minimal defensive phasers, and a torpedo system more often used for probes than for munitions. Her proportionally powerful sensors, capacity to mount an SWAX long-range sensor pod, and her relative inexpensiveness compared to her larger counterpart in the Nebula-class would however make her an ideal choice for a reconnaissance vessel. It was thus this role that she most often served during the Cardassian border war and later the Dominion war; though few Starfleet personnel would relish the thought of being stationed aboard a Prominence-class during a combat mission.
