Description This Christmas I got another sewing machine to add to the list! Only thing is, this one is 3 inches tall... I was thinking I don't have very many good tree ornaments of my own (most of them are my wife aelthwyn s) and so I was looking around for sewing machine miniatures. The best one I found is made by doll house model maker Chrysnbon. I don't know if they're still around as all the kits I saw were several years old (this one was from the 80's or 90's) Now that I have it finished I'll hang it on the tree for a bit and then eventually take it to work as a desk ornament.

It was a multi part kit that I assembled and painted, because of this, I don't have to rely on someone else's shaky hands to paint in the details. Also, I got a decal set made by another brand that goes with this kit and so the machine looks like a Singer with Sphinx decals.

I took a bunch of WIP images with my phone... now if I can just figure out how to get the pictures onto my computer.

Also, I haven't painted and completed a model since 2005 when I was painting Warhammer 40k figures.

Cool little model. In most cases a driver is required to access photos from the internal memory of the phone. I had to install one on my computer for a Samsung Galaxy SIII

Then I,m guessing it should connect automatically. It's just apple seems to change things like that constantly. But back in the day with older ipods there was a hidden folder called ipod_control were the music and other hidden files were stored. I have been out of practice with a lot of the technical apple stuff for a while. It is however possible to pull photos from your iphone. A family member spent hours pulling thousands (I'm assuming) of photos from his iphone 5. It may require iTunes. Great gallery by the way.

yeah, looks like one of the only ways to access the phone is through iTunes... will take some playing around.
Cheers!

Holy cow, this is adorable! And the paint work is really well done. At first I thought it was a full sized sewing machine. ^^

wow. Β it looks just like the one my grandma used to have (the actual sewing machine, not the ornament ) - that is a very nicely done miniature!

Indeed, it's startling how many of these machines people have. Almost every one I know has a mom or grandma that has one

Thank you! There's still a few things that I'm not quite satisfied with, but the artist is his hardest critic.

That is such a cool idea, nice quality miniature, too.
My mom has a (real) sewing machine that looks pretty much identical to that, and it's still in fully working order! I love the beautiful elegant shapes of those old machines, so lovely to look at!

Oh yes, I prefer the old machines because they were made before the age of planned obsolescence (planned to breakdown and be replaced) That's why they're still running
