Uploading this one a little early since it's ready.Anyone who's seen Spongebob knows the show's full of inconsistencies, especially the presence of fire underwater (and water underwater, like there being a lake underwater).
So I should have another comic ready friday... not sure what it'll be yet, and a lot of things have come up lately

Actually, underwater lakes do exist. Kinda.
And for the fire underwater... Maybe they used the Fire Flowers from Super Mario. Those worked in the underwater levels, didn't they?

I also thought fire underwater could exist if there was oil and some kind of spark, but it would have to be oil leaking directly from the ground because otherwise it'd rise to the surface... or the Mario explanation, lol

I wonder that myself now, especially since one episode where Spongebob's neighbor set up a campfire. how, I wonder now after reading this comic!

When I was younger, I never questioned such physics because it seemed so natural within the given universe. In fact, it was easy to forget that they lived underwater at all, what with gravity, buildings, etc.
But yeah, once you have a better understanding of the real world around you, the cartoon worlds and their inconsistencies just become HILARIOUS.

lol! yeah, as well as any time Goo Lagoon shows up (they're swimming underwater, though they can't "fly" by swimming through the other water)

I crack up when I see that episode with the Mad Snail Disease and see the city burst into flames
Oh, and how Sandy's air dome doesn't fill with water up to the hatchway; must be something in that airlock, but I don't see how new air could keep getting pumped in
