Love my 20D.. I'm looking forward to when the 30D comes down a little in price, until then, I'll continue to enjoy my baby.

Thanks for the on the Ricketts #7.

First off, thanks for the .. and the ... and of course, the comment. It's only classified as a cascade, but there was just something about the blend of colors that really brought me to liking this one... well, not just this one.. about 4 or 5 from the fall series... but the others are actual waterfalls.

Thanks.. it really does mean a lot.

Can't say why exactly, but I really like this one, another of my favorites in this series.

And it's not even a waterfall! As I was walking on the path above #7, something about this just caught my eye.. maybe all the colors or the fact I had walked more than 10 feet without taking a picture. There's a small tree on the left (I think) that's kinda in the way, but I have so much to go back for next year.. I'd be back there today if it wasn't closed for the season.

Very nice exposure... the colors are great... the only thing i'd say is on the border the big gap at the bottom needs some words or bring it up..

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Mardonic In reply to picturesque757 [2005-12-03 15:56:07 +0000 UTC]

I used to do that with the borders, add some words, but then the borders got too bulky and I felt it took away from the picture, so I just threw a simple border on it. For awhile, I wasn't even using borders, but this one seems to feel comfortable with most of the pics.

And I think this one is one of my personal favorites because it's not even a waterfall.. just a small cascade in between 2 falls, something that most people probably even bother with. Their loss..

Wow I really like this shot... you are lucky to be able to find spots like this I could spend all day just sitting there.

I live in a good area for waterfalls. I used to hate this area when we first moved here from the NYC area.. but now, after having pictures of 87 different waterfalls locally and knowing of at least 20-30 more public ones, I wouldn't trade this area for anywhere else... yet.. I still have yet to see the rockies...

In this particular park, there are 22 named (and numerous unnamed) waterfalls along a 7 mile loop... this one here isn't even considered a waterfall. It's too hard to sit at just one, although, I do it almost all the time I go here... Adams Falls is one of my favorite places to be in here. I could honestly sit for an hour without taking a single picture and just stare at it.

This one's definately the best of the series. Some mild unsharp masking would make it even look better (sharper). (60%-0,6-0 for example)

I suck with photoshop.. normally, I just hit the auto levels and maybe a dab of brightness or saturation... one day I'll invest in a photoshop for dummies thing so I can get layering down.. but then again, I spend too much time on here as it is. Thanks for the tip though, I'm gonna go try it.

Use it after resizing but before framing. Good luck!

Mardonic In reply to DimensionSeven [2005-11-12 22:51:26 +0000 UTC]

Holy crap! I did what you said, resized it and was sitting there using the undo/redo buttons looking to see a difference. I saw nothing.. until I glanced at one of the rocks. There's no emote for how many times I said "Holy (insert word of choice here)".

Seriously, thanks.. and the timing couldn't be better. I'm placing my next order in a week, now I have time to tinker.

Thanks again!

Basically this sharpening effect works in the small pictures the best, not in the original 6 MP one, since reducing the picture size loses sharpness.

Good choice... and it's not even one of the named waterfalls... I just love the way that this one flowed all together.. there's a couple of things that I'd like to remove from it, but all in all, it was one of my favs from sunday.

This is now my desktop and to think, it's not even one of the waterfalls... there are 22 "named" waterfalls and several (perhaps 6-8) not named, perhaps because of size.. I just love the feel of this, all the colors and the water seeming to flow together... I think I have enough fall pics for my calendar next year, now the damn snow better get here...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ambermac148 In reply to Mardonic [2005-10-24 22:53:29 +0000 UTC]

my parents are suppose to be getting snow this week. They had some over the weekend. And i bet you will have a wonderful calender next yr. I honestly think you should sell them, people would just eat these up........ok somehow that sounded really perverted.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Mardonic In reply to ambermac148 [2005-10-24 23:10:16 +0000 UTC]

No, no selling... don't want to think about my stuff on that level yet... I figure ones for people at work and a couple of the places where I took some of the pics would get a copy... possibly about 100..

ambermac148 In reply to Mardonic [2005-10-25 00:07:33 +0000 UTC]

well i personally think your stuff is good enough for it, but thats just my oppinion, right now i am doing calenders for my parents for x-mas all waterfalls as per moms request
