Okay, so I've made some changes to the palette of base form Mecha Mario using Mecha Sonic's palette for the shades of Blue, and some of the shades of Red. It just looks the best that way in my opinion. It was originally a brighter, slightly more saturated blue, but I felt this new version makes him feel darker as a character, and not so bright and happy like Mario himself.
As for the base form's general design, I put in shoulder armor very similar to Tagoma's armor from Dragon Ball Super, where it's not pointed like Vegeta's. Also, I made the 'ears' (for lack of a better word) basically just rounded knobs. No hole in the center, just a round structure.

As for 'Master' Mecha Mario (if he were to collect the 7 chaos emeralds), I ditched the gold plating for a silver/white color. After looking at it for a while, it just seemed a little too much; plus gold always seems to be the stereotypical 'super' color, and I wanted to stray from that. I ended up making the legs silver instead of blue just to emphasize his functionality. Sometimes you'll see character sprites that may look cool, but wouldn't actually function all that well if put into life. This way, you can clearly see that the 'knee' is where the silver and blue meet, just showing that's where his legs would bend.
