The tag on the ear shows just a number, but how can you look into those eyes and not see a soul. And yes, I know I'm a hypocrite, I do eat meat. (My daughter, the vegan one, is always reminding me that I really should stop.)Related content

Beautiful! I'm reading a book on domestication and the progenitor of cattle was the aurochs 155–180 cm and 1,500 kg. This guy with his horns and hair looks like aurochs calf.
Oh, and all god's chillins have souls. You can look into all four pair of eyes of a black widow spider and see her soul.

Reminds me of a funny story.
We had a horse suffering from cushing disease/syndrome which causes them not to be able to lose their coat. So one day we needed the vet to have her checked out. When he got to our place she was still in a paddock, so when we got her out for him he commented that when he saw her in the paddock he thought at first that it was a Scottish Mountain cow

At that time yes.
But eventually she got too stiff and one day couldn't get up herself anymore and I had to help her, so we had her put down later that day.

Omg, my fav animal! Thanks to these guys I have been a vegetarian for nearly three years now <3 dunno if I coule ever go vegan though, but I do know where my eggs come from, and I am getting cows in the future. What a lovely photo too, Highland cows are the fluffiest of all the breeds! And indeed, these guys aren't just a number, they are living things with just as much love to give and recive as any other animal <3 thank you for this photo!

He is adorable and his curly hair in the front reminds me of a larger-boned chocolate poodle we adopted growing up. 
PS - I see another commenter felt compelled to leave a half-compliment/half-degrading comment about the individual in your photo. That only reflects on them and shows what a compassionate and strong daughter you raised, to ignore comments she gets like those too.
