I can't help but imagine they have a very similar dynamic to Edward and Alphonse, with one of them being more impulsive, aggressive, protective, and constantly blaming himself for the situation they're in, while the other is calmer, gentler, less prone to anger and more mature and parent-like, but still have enough similarities to get along in practically any situation they're stuck in.
