Finally, I can upload a picture of this drawing! It started more than one year ago, when suddenly I found myself thinking about why do we love coffee so much. And there are so many reasons! This thought inspired me to start a free-hand drawing, no measurements of any kind, for the first time in many years And what a joy and fun it was! Working with charcoal and white chalk on dark grey paper was very easy and no eraser was needed
Here's what I wrote on a notebook page before starting the drawing, the thoughts that inspired it:

RITUALIZING ROUTINE...

What is it about COFFEE that makes it MAGIC?

IS IT the perfume? The velvety bitterness? The warmth of holding a big cup with both hands while the steam caresses your face and you gently kiss the lip of your cup?...what secret volatile ingredient opens your eyes and awakens your mind as soon as it reaches your nostrils?

IS IT the closeness of bringing friends together to chat and catch up on each other's lives? Or spending a beautiful morning with your lover, sipping coffee of their lips?

...the one moment in a day that you have just for yourself, when the time stands still while you have the perfect drink?

Is coffee just routine, or is it a ritual that we wait for every day? The one friend that accompanies us through all, thick or thin, knowing about every secret that we ever shared or kept to ourselves?

Here's to turning ROUTINE into a beautiful RITUAL!
