Reference of »Kira the Wildcat«

Who would've expected that I actually finish this reference one day? The sketch for this is from the beginning of 2010, but I still love it to bits, so lately, when I browsed through my sketch folder (see sketch here: [link] ) to look for work that is still worth finishing, I found this and immediately decided this to be my first victim. I originally didn't plan to give this any shading, nor to even colour anything but the main picture, but I still did to make it look a bit nicer.
I still gotta thank =black-avalon for the awesome redesign she gave her a while back.

KIRA THE WILDCAT
Name: Kira
Species: Wildcat

Likes: music, anything gothic styled, Cindy
Dislikes: guys, especially those abandoning girls
Personal Quote: "Music is my morphine. It kills the pain inside."
Profession: Kira gave herself the duty to take care of Cindy after her mother had died. So she's practically a kind of replacement mum for her.
Background Story: Kira spent most days of her life together with her best friend, a beautiful, nice and joyful person six years older than her. She started off as her babysitter but soon they became even better friends with every year that passed by. Kira always loved her like a big sister until one day - when they had grown older - she started to discover real love for her.
Afraid to lose her best friend with a confession like that, Kira always kept her feelings a secret and instead, enjoyed every moment she was able to be with her.
Her best friend, however, soon fell in love with a man who became her husband not long after it. Kira was horribly jealous but really grateful to see her best friend that happily at the same time. She still stuck to the same habit of simply enjoying the time she could have with her.
Her best friend soon gave birth to a little girl - Cindy. Everything seemed just fine, until one day her husband left them, as Cindy was at the age of about 2, with the words that he had no interest in them anymore at all. By this, Kira's best friend was heartbroken and fell into deep depressions. No matter what Kira tried, she didn't seem to be able to help her, and it didn't take long until finally, her best friend died, leaving Kira and Cindy on their own.
Depressed to have lost her best friend - that very person she loved so much - without having ever been able to tell her about her true feelings, Kira decided to hold dear and protect the very last bit that has been left of her: her daughter Cindy. And the music, she has always been enjoying as her greatest hobby, became her way of escaping from reality and the horrible feeling of sadness inside her. However, even if she was horribly down, Kira would always put on a smile to the outside, mainly to not upset Cindy but also to keep anyone else from her inner feelings.
