Description
Mixed media (watercolours, pencil, black marker, coloured pencils, white pen) on thick smooth paper, size A3Reference pictures: www.facebook.com/angelicaphoto… and www.facebook.com/angelicaphoto… by Angelica Photography www.facebook.com/angelicaphoto…

Keeping up with my more personal kind of portraits, dealing this time with the sensation of losing ourselves at times.
Inspired by a conversation I had with a person at my small exhibition, about traditionally painting dynamism and several instants all at once versus usual traditional portraits' staticity.
Inspired also by the photography of a fellow deviant whose works I really admire: and her double exposures and films. Check out her gallery, you won't regret it!

It's not enough
I've given all I can
But we're still on the payroll
And for a minute there, I lost myself, I lost myself"

I think that your work is really amazing. It absorb me when I look at it. the mix of two different pictures for your work is interesting. With the shadow and the light we see easily the difference. It's good that you have part in color and other part in black and white. The only thing that I think you could have improve is the mouth in black and white... The corner at left make it a little bit weird because of is orientation. I think, when I see what you are able to do, that you could have do better. But it's only a detail, the rest is perfectly interesting. I think you did a good job! congrasts!

Everything about this piece works flawlessly!
Vision: It's as if you went inside your own mind, took a photo of what you saw, and printed it out for all to see! The freckles and hair are all so realistic! The colors and lighting are sublime! And the eyes are like vacant pools of starlight longing to be filled!
Originality: I've seen MANY portraits that have this dreamlike/mirage look, but there's something about your's that just screams volumes!
Technique: Your method of using different tools - pencil, pen, etc., - I think worked perfectly!
This piece GREATLY reflects the artist who created it!

Alright, where to start.
First of all, The motive is pretty cool. This is one of those pictures you can look at for a while and appreciate the details. I find it particularly intersting how the hand can either be touching the touching her lips or covering her face, considering how you look at it.
The technique is great. The proportions of her facial features and the hand seem all in place. Shading and lighting are very well done too and her eyes pop out instantly. I'm especially fascinated with the way you coloured it and considering this is traditional art, this is even more astounding. Also worth mentioning is the combination of the red and black hair colouring. What I also noticed after looking at it for a little while is the nice shift in tone from the colder left side to the warmer right side of the picture.
It's a good thing you worked some of the colour in the background in the upper left aswell. This may seem trivial, but you could've just aswell let it white, however this little change does in fact make a difference.
Now construcitve critizism also includes pointing out the negatives. And I tried to find something here, but that would just be nitpicking for the sake of it.
Overall this is a great piece of art and even more so considering that it's done with a traditional medium.

This is one of the most beautiful pieces I've seen in a long time. It makes me think of my powerful experiences on dissociative anaesthetics.

Not quite a Picasso, but that certainly wasn't your intention either. Anyway, it's great! And I like how confused I get when I try to focus on some specific part.
