Description
This is my attempt.Velvet's classic design was made by another artist, but I think I need permission to give credit because of their personal reasons.
I like Phoenix Wright and Maya Fey the most. I can imagine him having a cartoony breakdown after the updated autopsy report.
I need to watch the Secret of Nimh. I kinda know about it, but I didn't Know Mrs. Brisby's name until now.
I don't play Plants vs Zombies, and I don't intend to.
I like playing Mega Man but I utterly suck at it.
Jazz fits unusually well.
I thought Optimus would look cooler. I can see it in my head, but it's blurry. A rubberhose Transformer sounds awesome.
This was actually harder than imagined. There turned out to be a huge difference between rubberhose and Cuphead. Cuphead had time, patience, and over 100 years of past cartoon experience to go off of. True rubberhose was often budgeted, rushed, and almost everybody was inexperienced. An experienced artist may be completely incapable of truly replicating rubberhose as it was. This is why I find most modern throwbacks to be absolutely unfaithful despite any technical skill the creators might have. There's also the issue of animation. When something moves in classic cartoons, there is an explicit focus on that one thing. This is why facial animations are so awkward and jarring. They don't think "Oh he's making this expression", the animators were thinking "Oh, this eyebrows is moving, the teeth are moving, the lip is curling around it, the eyes will be affected, but the head can't move and this and blah blah blah..." and it just looks odd.
To be blunt, this image is very inaccurate. No character would be designed like these back in the day. MAYBE Phoenix or Jazz, but everything else is nearly impossible to tell.
