This took me forever x_x It's a fanart for the wonderful characters of . I love her artwork and I think these girls deserve more love <3 <3 They are completely my type (yeah, both the really-masculine-one and the sexy-yet-not-a-barbie-doll kind of woman).One of the reasons I treasured this characters so much is because it's so hard to find stories (even drawings) of yuri or lesbian-related art that are not showing two girls of physical age 11-13 (and mental age below that)... It's so frustrating. Of course even in yaoi and other types of erotic art there are bad, mainstream clichés that everyone loves. But there ARE good yaois around. (Talking about Hamlet... Ever read Starfighter?? [link] ) There ARE good erotic comics. Where are those few, precious, well drawn and well written lesbian relationships??? Well, one certainly is here =]

Eu tentei deixar a pose sem muitos erros de anatomia xD Várias horas no msn com a Fá vendo se o cotovelo não estaria mais pra lá, a coxa menor... É complicado. Quem não nasce com olho absoluto (existe isso? Tipo ouvido absoluto pra desenho xD) tem que ir na tentativa e erro. E daqui a 6 meses olhar de novo e falar: Cara, como eu não vi esse joelho???????

Pra mim, inverter a figura ajuda bastante na hora de achar os erros, mas fora isso… Bom, só com treino se aprende, então tem que desenhar mesmo, e se você reparar em 6 meses alguma coisa estranha, você tá sabendo que melhorou, então… o/

Sim, inverter é a melhor coisa xD Isso ainda dá pra fazer com o papel, só por ao contrário no sol, mas no Photoshop a mobilidade é infinitamente maior... Só o fato de poder copiar e colar aquele olho...levantar mais um pouquinho...aumentar a cabeça... Isso no papel tem vezes que é melhor desistir e começar o desenho de novo xD

I didn't think it was needed... Here in my country they show straight couples all the time like this in open television. Maybe for the boobies of one of the gals I should put a slightly warning, but I don't think it is really necessary.

In Brazil. We have soap television prograns that always show sex as a "normal" thing in life. Of course, as long as it is straight, doggy-style and no one uses dirty words. Do it like the bible says, y`know? (Sorry, i'm just ranting...).

Yea, this shows less than some "Artistic Nude" often shows and its not even sexual, IMO. I wouldn't have thought to put a mature filter on it. (And I'm American ^.~ )

Oh, blast, I forgot to say anything about the pic itself didn't I? It seems like a nice comfortable moment of relaxation and casual intimacy, perhaps a little bit of cheekyness in that leg-placement, but entirely open to interpretation.
Also, I'm guessing the tomboyish/butch (whichever descriptor you preffer) is the one in shorts, and the femme is the one in the lacy underthings? Nice, it's always good to have character details consistant with personality.

Well, underage is a cliché more usual in manga-based comic. Since here in DA there are a lot of westerns-comic inspired art there is also a great amount of art showing huge breasted and butted woman who appear to be saying: "Oh, I'm straight. I do this just for pleasure." Both clichés bother me and I agree with you that it is best to try to create different, intelligent characters the best we can. We may ended up falling in some trap as you mentioned, but sure it is best to try to do something different than give it up and do something silly that everyone will comment as: CUTE.

The characters are not mine, but I think they are a wonderful example of how to create lesbian characters apart from all the existing clichés =] The leg-thing was not intentional xD But as you pointed out, it is open to interpretation, so I didn't want to change that. To me they're just laying and talking, but feel free to see it otherwise.

Mmm... I did intend for my first lesbian character to be both moderate of curves and very tomboyish, but since I'm a writer not an artist, she tends to be portrayed by the people I commission with more boobs/butt and skimpier outfits than I'd like, even wearing makeup... but I can at least say she gives off a strict no dudes vibe, not a hatred of them (unless they're being jerks [which is far too often]) but a "please just leave me alone and don't hit on me" response, not that a lot of people pay attention to that...
Mmm, and I did suspect that the more innocent expanation was the one with authorial intent behind it, I was just pointing out the possibility, and I do agree that these two are a very nice example of how to avoid the various pitfalls and cliches.

Ahhh, I have never understood the appeal of underage (in mind or body) lesbian couples, and thankfully I think I've had a good run with not encountering that stereotype too much.
Heck, I make a point of trying to make any gay character I create as fiercely intelligent as I can convincingly portray within the limitations of my own intellect and writing ability, though I'll admit some of them have rather carefree or perhaps excessively flirty moments/traits, so I suppose on the latter I may well be falling into another type of trope...

Hey, I'd love to see two gals in SF world, but I think it will be a good thing if you put them in the Starfighter reality meanwhile Cain and Abel exist... they can even meet in a hallway for a joke xD I wouldn't like a version of Cain and Abel as girls... Like a remake or a school version or any major change like that. Even in a fanbook.
