Description
This is my take on Jack White. One of, if not my favorite musician and hero. I did it mostly in oil and then touched it up in Photoshop. But I still consider it mostly traditional. I thought it would come out alot better but this is where I'm going to stop. Its time to move on. You can see the original B/W sketch in my scraps.Related content

I saw the red eye and striped fan, and thought of the old Japanese flag (rising sun) so then my mind jumped to WWII and I thought "It's like a Japanese Nazi bunny!"
So there's my weird little take on it.
Very nice job! ^-^ Looks like it could be a poster from that era as well.

Yeah I had thought about the rising sun thing and added the pin stripes in between to defer that. I originally was going to do the wavey peppermint stripes but it just didn't look right. Maybe I should have tried it anyway. Oh well next time!

Man I really would love to. I wanted to do a piece before I went to see the Raconteurs and see about getting to him but I was working on something else and ran out of time. I also thought they would have stopped me at the door and called the painting ( a foot long oval block of wood) a weapon so I decided not to.

Yeah I'm getting really into white rabbits. I was actually referencing white Jack-rabbits when doing it, hence Jack White. I know not too many people will get it but I guess it was more for me.

I actually think Jack White is overrated, but I like this painting a lot! Luckily interpretation is an open thing and your inspiration can be whatever it is without being absolute...

True. Though I do start a piece with my own inspiration. I usually like to make it different enough to where others can read their own meaning into it. Thats one of the reasons I love art so much!!!

Oh no!!!! Its not what I was going for but I understand with the military jacket and all. I was using a reference photo of Jack with Jimmy Page where he was wearing one like it. Seems he wore more jackets like this after they release "Get Behind Me Satan."

I don't know why, but when I looked at this it immediately made me think of Winston Churchill! He has a very political look about him...something sly, wise, and yet a bit humorous. Not a huge fan of jack White, but that is not important here, because this piece certainly stands on it's own! Well done!

I thought it would be a commentary on a world leader (the question is where are we being led!). In this light, I was going to say the rabbit looks like it needs our help.
But after reading your commentary I now see it from another beautiful angle. Great job!
