Twenty-five whole years of the original Super Smash Bros. on the Nintendo 64 had come and gone, and the original twelve were celebrating along with some of their friends who appeared in the mod and would later make the cut in the Canon timeline [along with so many other characters]: Bowser, Sheik/Zelda, Ganondorf, Marth, Falco, Mewtwo, Wario, Lucas, King Dedede, Sonic, Wolf, and Banjo and Kazooie.

They celebrated so much they decided to open their Super Smash Con, with panels discussing their best [and worst] moments of working behind the scenes of the original game, stages representing the levels of the game, and the characters were even open for autographs!

The three guests [who were invited to the mod], consisting of Conker, the rowdy but friendly squirrel; Marina Liteyears, the half-robot, half-lady with a tight grip and a kindhearted demeanor; and Goemon, the ninja who is hot-headed but well-meaning, have all gathered to Mario's section for autographs.

Conker was first to get his envelope autographed.
"Can you make that out to me and my darling Berri?" Conker asked.
"Okie-dokie," replied Mario. Then he signed the inside of Conker's envelope, "To Conker + Berri! -Mario. Wahoo!"
After Mario signed the envelope, Conker took it and rapidly shook Mario's hand, saying "Thank you, thank you, thank you so much, Mr. Mario! You're the best!" Then he ran off, dollar signs in his eyes. "I can't wait to have Donkey Kong sign this next!"

Next was Marina's turn.
"Sign this the best way you can," she told Mario.
"No worries, I've-a-got this," answered Mario, giving his thumbs-up. And sign it the best way he did: "For Marina - let's-a-go! -Mario."
After he signed Marina's envelope, she did a small jump of excitement before giving the plumber a big hug. "Thank you so much, Mario, you're absolutely the best!" she cried out. After letting go, she took the envelope and rushed off.

Next came Goemon.
"I want you to sign this for me only. Don't include Ebisumaru; he's weird," Goemon specified, hoping Mario would understand.
"Alright," Mario responded with a nod. Then he signed it, reading, "Goemon - you're wonderful! -Mario. Here we go!"
Goemon took the envelope, reading through it, then gave a salute. "Thanks, Mario. I knew I can count on you," he said before heading off to join the other two.

And not even a few hours later before the twenty-four Canon fighters locked up for the night did not one, not two, not three, but four more guest sneak in, hoping to get an autograph - the Dragon Kings, the mannequin-looking men who inspired Mario, Donkey Kong, Yoshi, and Pikachu to start a fighting game at Nintendo. The autograph Mario gave the Dragon Kings? "To Dragon King - thank you so much-a for-to inspiring us to make our fighting games. -Mario."
