Thank you so much Pat, I could not have hoped for a better critique than the one that you have given, nor could I have commented on the image so eloquently. You have made my day!

My fork is being requested by lots of groups at the moment and obviously I accept every request, I suspect this may be something to do with you Pat? If so, thank you again for what you have done, and are still doing for me.

Mark-Allison In reply to DiaAri [2013-04-22 08:59:55 +0000 UTC]
Thanks very much. How did I take it and of what? It's a photo of a fork, taken head on and close up with a macro lens attachment.

Very, very cool! From the thumb I thought the tines had been curled but the reality is far more impressive Mark. Awesome shot!

Thank you very much May! It was in colour when I took it originally, but it didn't quite work, but changing it to black and white seemed to make quite a difference.

I trust your opinion Just proves that the simplest everyday items *can* become works of art.

Yes you're right, and also it goes to prove that sometimes, less is more

Yes, you are right I was just meaning the simplicity of it and the fewer 'ingredients' the better. Sorry to be off at a tangent there - I do it to hubby all the time and get in trouble for it

This photograph is wonderfully abstract. Even with the name giving it away it's almost hard to tell what it is. I am impressed!

Faved...
Strange this may sound...
But it is the subtle unsymmetrics...
of the points...
that makes the loudest sound...!
The symmetri of the black body with 4 legs...
wants to bee in control standing/marching 4/4 high in top of picture...
takes a great risk...and loses...
the four points sligtly rearange their relationship...
creating undulating tones...phaseshifting...slow vibrations...
like the real beginnings inside a Raga...
Greetings Jakob.

Thanks for faving Jakob, and thanks also for such a comprehensive and in-depth comment. No, I don't think your view is strange,
When we look at an image we all see different things, and you have obviously seen something quite deep in this image, and I can also see the things that you mention now. When I took the shot, all I could see was the penetration of space by the 4 points of the fork, like lances piercing fog, or 4 sharp objects protruding from the surface of a lake. But yes, the "out of alignment" of the tines does add an extra dimension.
Thanks again

Hello...
First thing I saw was four space shuttles...
breaking free of the cloudy mist...up...up...
from a dark landing strip beneath...
frozen in the moment the picture was taken...
Like bullets in a matrix movie...
but...
then the sound and rythm of the four points took over...
I still hear electronic humming music...
Greetings Jakob.
