Hi, I did this several years ago, but from memory it is A2. As to the second part of your question I'm not quite sure what you mean sorry.

Oh, sorry. It is Canson paper. I think the colour was Mi Teintes (grey). I used the smoother side.
Canson paper is really popular and should be available at most art stores. At least it is in my part of the world.

An experiment in technique.. Wow.. Marvellous detail.. .Hands are superb fingernail and creases ..shading to die for, leather creases...and those ever so hard to produce white hairs ,right down to the bumps on his skin....you haven't missed a trick...How to improve on perfect...

I don't like the lips. The illumination seems so unreal on the lips, and the nails are too white. Apart from that, obviously a masterpiece. But it can be better, for sure.

lol any suggestions. whatever you did, you did it right. This is an absoloutely stunning piece of artwork. i am shocked and in love with so many things about this portrait. For starters; the image you selected was already spot on, but the way in which you chose to represent it is so impressive. The character and fine tuned detail of the face stands out perfectly alongside the darker shadows and less detailed background, without looking even the slightest bit out of place. Bottom line i love this drawing... you did ask for suggestions and i am hard pressed to find any, but i will offer up one criticism.Β
i realize the hands need to have less detail than the other areas (and more than some also), but when i am closely examining the hands something is odd about the ring finger. Right above the ring it is slightly flat and then underneath the ring where it connects to the top of the hand it doesn't flow perfectly.
But honestly dude if i were to ever make something even close to this it would be my greatest piece of all time lol. Great work!
