Description
Hey everyone, Mark again with some more filler. This is just the scene Iβve been briefly working on as part of our assignment for Cinematography at AIE, wherein we must appropriately polish up a scene for submission.
Now I cannot stress this enough...
ALL 3D MODELLING IN THIS SCENE WAS NOT DONE BY ME!
So I donβt want to hear; "Awesome Dinosaur bro", or "Fully Sick man, this is so completely awesome".
Doing so will be a forceful reminder of your noobery.
Part of our assignment was to apply lighting and appropriate materials to get a realistic render.
As per these fine examples of the same scene. >>>
All tips and forms of advice are welcome and encouraged...
This Scene and all subsequent models belong to their original artist.
---
PREVIOUS UPDATE: I added a bit of a bump map to the dinosaur bones to make them look more like fossils as opposed to plastic, and I've messed around with the lighting a little more to give the Triceratops a little more volume and a shadow cascading on the floor.
I really need to add some more atmosphere and figure out a way to get a better glass material.
---
PREVIOUS UPDATE: A bit more work, fixed up the lighting a tad, particularly on the lamps. Also added a glow to the background so the light sort of bleeds through the window.
And I got a better glass material. Needs some more work, notably on the materials of the wall and floor, etc.
---
UPDATE: More or Less finished, Twaeked glow from the window, and lighting itenisity. Ive also rendered in the back of the ssene so theres a better reflection off the glass. Although it could use a lot more work, but the thing is due within an hour and I cannot be bothered working on it any further.

this is looking great the the dinosaur head of the t-rex seems to be a spot that seems to just disappear and stands out of the image as not quite right. I hope this helps

Lighting isn't my most strongest suite, thankfully I've always got the drawing to fall back on.

>.> One thing I do find slightly awkward is the texturing of the rhino/tricerotops thingy. It looks very gritty and line-y, Like a crunched up piece of paper. I do agree with lighting up the corner in the middle where its completely black.
Or maybe its just be and bones do look like crinkle pieces of paper. I watch to much Scooby Doo, and cartoons.

Really could have found a way to space out the bump map a bit more, and adjusting for monitors is a bitch.

Yes monitors are evil.. and so are bump maps. It really looks good though.

Sure, the models are good, but without the lighting the scene isn't made. It reminds me of the scene of an old Scooby Doo N64 game, just before nightfall.
Just one thing: I notice that there aren't any shadows on the floor in front of the Triceratops skeleton, only a problem since most of the light sources are behind it.

I figured sunset would be best for me, considering oranges and the like aren't what I'm colour blind to, but I also like the atmosphere too.
I had the intention that the lights werepassibg over the top, not hitting the floor until later, but it's a work in progress.

Makes sense. I definitely wouldn't have pegged you as being color-blind, though.
Ah, thanks for the heads-up.

the glass is missing the glare ,i see no shadows being cast but the lack of light makes it better to me so 3.4?5

A lot of the little details like glare off glass is easier said than done, but I'm guessing that glass would be better achieved through particular surface shaders.
