While I may take a look at the book I must say this art seems... Out of place. The background is very nice and detailed but the character is not. The two do not go very good together.

I love both parts of the picture, but since the character is outlined, and the background is not, she stands out to much and appears flat, like a cardboard cutout. The background is beautiful though, I think you should try to draw your characters the same way, at least in illustrations like this.

Mark I love your work, however this one is bugging me a little. The girl seems 'Out of place' vs her environment, While the background is hyper detailed I don't think there is enough depth to the girl and the lack of color tones really sets it off. It's like taking a picture of real scenery then drawing a anime girl over it.
With that said I still think its a great piece, I respect the time it takes to make stuff like this and I really like how you use more than just one method to make your works. You have come along way seance the release of 'Miki Falls 'Spring' Keep up the great work!
