the model was very kind to let me take a photo for reference

Having never taken a life drawing class, do you not get to keep the pictures you draw? That seems strange!

Oh yes, I keep everything. It's great for reference stuff, that way I know what I'm drawing, plus I still have pics of the model we had in class, she was nice enough to let me take her picture

we had a lamp that cast a hard light on the model, so we'd have a very strong contrast

I got a ton of smack from my teacher about it, and what pissed me off is that he let students compliment the crappy art that was up, but cut them off when it came to my piece for break. I was totally pissed.
I never got a B in Life Drawing before in my life!

lol! The life teacher I had didn't make it easy either. Also, the model would always have a prop of some sorts. That didn't help lol ^^
