It's a shame Six-Gun has never shown up once in any of the IDW comics, Even as just some background dude blasting stuff. Such a cool looking character. Well apart form the old toy of course. lol

You're a demon Alex
You can tell you had a lot of fun doing this one though, overboard or not. Genuinely inspiring stuff chief!

Ah! That wasn't long after TFN wasn't it?
(To be honest I have to check what day it is four or five times.. so I'm surprised I recollected that much )

This is just amazing. Also, I like that you drew Slammer based on one of his third party figures.

Outstanding artwork of the mighty Metroplex. Btw, who's the white robot next to Six-Gun? I don't recognise him.

I can't remember.Β The person who commissioned the piece wanted on of the 3rd party characters that was created for Metroplex.Β I think it's one of the Iron Factory ones? I can't remember right now.

This is the Autobot City bot Metroplex from the 1986 toyline. Unicron is the orange planet-sized Transformer who devours planets.

Of course. A very nostalgic one. I actually had Metroplex as a kid, So this reminds me very much of those days. But funny enough I never owned the original Optimus Prime G1.
I'm sure the person that commissioned this one is very pleased.

Yeah, I had Metroplex and Tripticon as well.Β Β
I think he like it a lot.Β I ended up going overboard on it, so he got a lot more in it then what I quoted him for.Β Not a big deal, it was fun to work on and he was great in waiting a extra day to get it

Ah yes......
I did pick up the IronFactory 2-pack of the "Not-SixGun" and "Not-Slammer" myself.
(Dunno why HASBRO didn't include them in the 1st place)
Still want to get the sticker set/repo label set from Toyhax for both of these guys.
I recall that there was another 3rd party manufacturer that made a much largerΒ "Not-SixGun"
that this newest Metroplex could hold....but I forget who it was.
Ah well, I couldn't have afforded to get that one anyway.
Cool pic.

I'm going to assume that's a robot-mode version of Slammer on the left...?

The robot-mode version of Slammer is actually inspired by a 3rd-party set of figures by the company Iron Factory, known as Turrets (Sixgun) and Manacle (Slammer). Turrets and Manacle were legends-scaled versions of Sixgun and Slammer to go along with Generations Titan Class Metroplex, but they came packaged with so much 5mm compatible weaponry that they wound up being a really fun stand-alone set even without Metroplex. And yes, Iron Factory decided to give Manacle (Slammer) A really great-looking robot mode.
Iron Factory has gone on to make a lot of really high-quality legends-scaled figures, most of which have better engineering and articulation than most voyager- and leader-class figures these days. Some of their stuff is borderline-masterpiece levels of quality. They're pretty much my favorite 3rd Party Transformers company ever.
Sorry, that explanation went on a bit longer than I thought it would...
