It looks real!!!!!! You did good with the reflections. I still fight them.

Thanks Sherry; ambient and diffuse levels do need a fair bit of pre-tweaking to get reflects to look reasonably 'natural'.

Very cool idea and use of the K cube. However, you should really crank up your render settings as it would better do justice to your work.

Thanks Michai, this quality level is about the max my machine can cope with using Mandelbulb 3D. If I tried to produce a 4000x2000 image with 2xAA, it would go into meltdown!!
I do envy the quality obtainable from some 'true' 3D renderers, but have high hopes for future versions of M3D!

Awesome work and excellent reflects.. ! Being an old Foundryman, this doesn't look like your standard ASTM A536!

Yeah, it's a fractally reworked ASTM A537 MkII!!
Cheers Steve!

I really like this piece - it's futuristic and mechanical, but without looking too bleak. I especially like the lighting and the perspective.

Thanks HJ; glad you see it as metal, and not glass - wonder if we'll ever get 'transparency' as an option though?

Cheers Vince!
If your image has sufficiently smooth-ish surfaces, reflections can work very well. Best to
experiment on small 'preview' images though, as reflects can take a while to render!

Getting there Len, getting there....
Ah yes, but we call it 'Gaffer-Tape' over here you see!
Don't think 'Gaffertile' would make much sense as a title!!
Cheers man!

Thanks Doriano! Personally I think it looks more metallic, but could be glass I guess!
