This is so perfect that I almost didn't notice Mermando's absence! At least pool jail boy didn't have to spend independence day alone!

Fantastic fireworks scene (seems perfect for Independence Day, though now there's hardly a holiday with explosives anymore). The characters all look lovely and then it's even better with all the subtle interactions going on that make it so much sweeter. First thing, Stan blocking Gideon's and Pacifica's views with his flags is perfect. The former President was nice enough to attend and watch the awe-inspiring display with such seriousness. Mabel's got her seahorse sweater, perfect for the pool, and it's great to see Wendy with her arm around Dipper, much to Robbie's great dismay. (Oh, and she's the only one besides "pool jail solitary confinement" boy to be in a bathing suit? Well, never know about the old man.) The fierce way Manly Jan eats his dainty sandwich is terrific, and his number one fan is really cutting loose on the big-eyed amazement tonight.
