Gideon also wasting time for the most part. he had dynamite adn genreally had no reason to summon bill at all.
Stan's portal. hint at in th first episode and only appeared not even mentioned or even hinted at until the finale.
book 1. was genreally hinted at with the existance of book's 2 and 3 but still not even hinted at
Waddles: not really in the myth arc yet.
Blandin Bledin not really doing anything yet.
don't get me wrong i like the show but to be honest it feel's like it's unfocused when it comes to the myth arc.
hell look at the puppet episode. the myth arc seems to stop dead. and no one even bothers to mourn it.

its not unfocused. at first, yeah, but it started developing a story line to follow pretty quickly. by gideon summoning bill, now bill hates the Pines twins as well as stan so theres a reason for the series finale (probably) to be a stand-off against bill and the Pines' family and their friends (and hopefully the author). blendin blandin is just there to add fun and mystery and stans portal is probably to defeat bill (at least thats what i think). just bc you dont understand something or havent given the details much thought doesnt mean its unfocused. it means u r.

The story for season one didn't start till episode 19 yes Gideon was introduced in am eariler episode. but again other then hinting about something they did hardly anything with him. hey at least Bill was put in the episode natually. i mean why the hell would Gideon turn to a demon for help when he has the dynamite which he had no reason to not use as plan a. which he couldn't have done because that would not involve shoehorning in bill for an attempt to finally get the story line going.
and before you start complaining about not understanding something well that's bullshit to. I've watch every episode seen every clue every story translated watched books and seen clues in the games (top notch way to do that by the way. give games which aren't available to people outside of the us.)
see that's my problem with gravity falls it a lot of stuff says that something is coming. when the question that's asked what's coming. the response is something just wait.
and again it seems that we keep getting this idea that the problem is you. i enjoy the show for the comedy and the characters. and yes i enjoy them because of it. however i feel that quite frankly telling us that theirs a mystery in gravity falls. and not even hinting at it for anything other then the first episode and the last two episodes.
i don't get why the hell criticizing the show for some of theΒ weaker aspects of the show is basically a litmus test for the quality of a human being. so what just because I'm not in line to give Alex hirsch all of the credit in the world I'm an idiot.
and again to anyone who wants to say well wait and see. well you know what i agree. i agree that this show could have a great ending which works. but i'm also open to the possibility that the ending and what ever possibility will be disappointing. by the wayΒ thanks again for giving the whole well that's going to happen ni the future of season two and not actually paying attention to the majority of the argument that my problem is with the direction of the mystery

i really like how mature you are! a lot of people would start typing all caps throwing F-bombs around until it looked like a warzone, but youre containing your anger and frustration very well. because you arent cursing a lot and typing all caps, i can tell what youre actually trying to say.
i get what youre saying. i think they want to have some episodes lead up to the big finale at the end and stuff while others are suppose to just be there for light-heartedness and humor bc if they had all the episodes be important for the plot/set-up, the series would be over rather quickly dont you think? and you have to keep in mind that this is a kids show. if it got too intense it would probably be taken off the air (again) so they have to have light-hearted episodes to keep adults as well as kids entertained.
i appreciate youre comments so i can see why some people dont enjoy the show as much as i do and so i can feel lucky i dont focus on stuff like that.

I'm also sorryΒ for coming as harsh as i did mostly that came from the fact that some people were generally trying to paint me as a villain for complaining some of the worst parts of the series. and i will be fair i get that this is a kids show. but there are other kids shows which can explain this stuff quicker.
i guess as mentioned in my discussion to vivian334 it that it's just taken a while the story line only got started in episode 19 which means that it took one year and one month to start even getting closer to what happen in that series.

i tried using spellcheck but it wouldnt work. but i dont think you were harsh at all. at first i was sorta mad but i see what youre saying. besides, you are entitled to your opinion, but why i got mad was bc if i have an opinion im the kind of person that would just keep it to myself and i get a little overwhelmed when people dont do the same.
but i for one am happy it took so long for the story line to develop, that way we can grow to love the characters and understand the choices theyd make later on. it did take a bit too long, youre right, but if they had important stuff happening in every episode, we wouldnt have time to love the characters, just the story. thats how it is for me anyway. if a story goes to fast, i end up just liking what its about, not the people telling the story.
and i dont know why you had a "break down" about me saying it was light hearted. most of the episodes had big battles at the end, but for the most part they were just funny and cute.Β

I'm sorry after how you reacted towards my first message reacting to your previous comment in the manner that is did was generally offensive.
the thing is that the episode did add to the plot in the sense that bill has is intrested in the kids. which was true to start with however the problem is the fact that afte rthis episode there has hardly been any devolpment. maybe I'm being harsh on the show but I'm still annoyed at the lack of development during many of the episode of season one. I'll say this i thought the joke were funny and the characters good. but well. let me just point something out
but the midway point of season one gravity falls had fallen into a pattern.
dipper attracted to Wendy or Mabel wants something
dipper spend the majority of the episode trying to get what he wants. only to ultimately give it up for Mabel.
now that's not to say that there wasn't any variation on the theme. or every episode followed that theme. or even has to follow that theme. (i for one wouldΒ those episode to ones that did advance the plot in the finale or dreamscapers)

Nah, the myth arc hasn't stopped dead,sure the laptop is destroyed, but that just means it will take longer to figure out everything, remember what Bill said? "Sorry kid, you were coming up on something big. I got big plans and I don't need you getting in my way" or how we've known Bill was planning something since season 1.Β
Gideon, well we know he will return cause Alex did confirm that. And we know Gideon wants to rule the world with the three journals, and he is pissed Dipper and Mabel took them away.. Although I'll have to agree with you that his performance was terrible in Gideon Rises.. My opinion though..
Stan's portal, well we have no idea what that will do yet, other that it's scanning for something.
the journals, well. We know have many secrets, that's the entire point of them, we know that Stan didn't even think about invisible ink.

( which to be honest even that plot point was stupid, what clues did dipper have to guess the password, what could mable give to help, how come after god knows how many attempts it run out of passwwords to guess) there's no real hints to show were the story will go. hell dipper dosen't really react to it at the end of the episode.

Thats the point, all he knew was that it was an 8 letter password. As Dipper said in the beginning of 'Sock Opera' he said Mabel would type and he would read. You also have to keep in mind that Mabel could help making up the possible passwords. Because, even the author could have forgotten the password before... well, from what we know, Bill is planning something, Dipper wants to find out whats going on before summer ends, and also the Cipher Wheel has icons representing certain characters, meaning they would probably have to work together at one point. What did you expect Dipper to do? He's sleep deprived, his body is all bruised with possible broken or sprained parts, Mabel didn't even know the laptop was destroyed, and Dipper did react whenever bill took his body, The data was gonna be ereased anyways when Bill destroyed it.

That's still a problem though there is no a single clue about the password gell we don't even know if it was a word why not a string of numbers. If dipper wants to find you before the end of summer then may I suggest not just Β choosing from the hundreds of possible 8 letter choices availableΒ

Yes bill has some sort of plan but again there has been no hints about anything in the mystery and after 26 episodes all we know is that theirs Β secret and that somethings coming yet again
Also i just realised for an episode that's showing how maybe is selfish and that she's finally sacrificing something for dipper who as mentioned has no clue about what the password is. Is endangering his own health, is willing to make Β deal with with a demon when he knows those never work well. While mable
at least acts like someone with a brain and they both could have waited till after the show.

In 'Soos and the Real Girl' there was a post it note which says 'Password: Fixinit1' it's a bit of a stretch but that could very well be the password, doesn't matter now, but still.
We don't need the show to tell us every single secret all at once, then it would be rushed. And yes it's been 26 episodes, but the ball has finally started rolling in Dreamscapers, things have gotten more intense since then. You also have to keep in mind that this is a cartoon series, Disney would probably want to get as much out of it as possible, even if Alex doesn't.
If Mabel helped Dipper then he wouldn't have to get desperate and make the deal with Bill. Bill took his chance to get Dipper when he was at his weakest, not just because of his sleep deprivation, but he was also crushed that Mabel would want to impress a guy more then help him.

but it hasn't been rushed at all it's just been meandering for 17 episodes.
that said maybe it's the fact that we're only on season 2 after two years of running that I'm annoyed by this. and the fact that it took a year to meet bill and a year to get to season two.
the thing is though. there was nothing forcing dipper to do this without Mabel. just get the show done and then work together to try and solve this. Mabel was selfish yes. but Dipper's decisions were bad all the way though. trusting bill was like trusting an alligator that claims wants to give you money he's hidden in this mouth yes he maybe there is but in general I'm not going to trust him,

Well, we needed a season finally, and it takes many months to make a whole season.
Its summer break, they don't have all year to discover all the secrets, I can see why Dipper was trying to figure it all out in one summer, he doesn't know if he'll return anytime soon. Besides Gravity Falls is about the progression of Summer, from the beginning where he doesn't want to be there, the middle where he is enjoying himself, and the end when he doesn't want to leave.

I know but quite frankly it took this much to acutally get to a story line with in the series which isn't just decoding stuff. that's what my problem is it's twenty six episodes ni now and we don't have any knowledge about this at all. that's the problems i know we're mostly at the start of the series but still well it's been five episodes and we're heard nothing of the portal.
if dipper's in such as rush then why the hell has he been wasting time on stuff like Wendy. hell that's not to say that they can't do those episodes but it would be nice if that actually had spent more time on the mystery.that said i'm glad that they tried to subvert that in later episodes but still. hell my problem is the fact that quite frankly. there seems to be no sense of urgency to solve this mystery. it's like the fact that have a set number of days to solve this in doesn't matter. admittedly this gravity falls airs on the same channel as phineas and ferb were 104 days of summer vacation has spread to over 200
however we've also had an episode were dipper didn't want to go. it was rise of Gideon. and to be honest i have more faults with that episode but still.

Yes, they realized that problem in the show, or well it might not even be a problem at all, these are 12 year old KIDS who are in a place where magic stuff happeneds every day!! They didn't realise how big of secrets were in this town until Bill told them himself that something big is happening, and he realised the importance in the journals when Gideon nearly destroys them.
Now for Wendy, The inconveniencing, Where it's early in the summer and Dipper an Mabel still need a taste of what's to come, They hang out with Wendy and the others where they instantly go to a haunted convenience store and gain the teenagers respect. (Except for Robbie)
Double Dipper and The Time Travelers Pig, in these situations Grunkle Stan is the one to blame, in the first one he made dipper work, the second one Grunkle Stan gave Dipper and Mabel I'm guessing a few chores and allowed them to play for the rest of the day.
Summerween, Well Halloween is his favorite Holliday, and this party would be his first Halloween party, you got to be excited for that. Although he had a run in with a candy monster.. A and yeah...
Fight Fighters, SOOS brought them to the arcade, and from what I saw dipper and Wendy happen to be there, whenever Robbie came by the next day Dipper went and explain to him that Wendy isn't here, until Robbie then teases him and Dipper destroys his phone, Robbie THREATENS him and so Dipper tries to hide but finds rumble mcskirmish.
Boyz Crazy, he was genuinly worried for Wendy's safety when he heard Robbie's music.

The second season just started and has far more details going for it than season 1. No need to be so critical of only 6 eps. I can see if we were in the 15th and still nothing, but we're only at 6, 6 which means there is much more to go.
Please just lighten up a bit as you are being a bit too critical at this point.Β

I'm not being critical of 6 episodes. I'm critical of the direction of the show. i dislike the idea that i need to lighten up just because of the fact that i have problems with the recent developments. hell I've enjoyed the majority of the episodes. even the one's i dislike (sock opera and littlest gift shop of horror's) i enjoy.
what i am critical is the fact that we're heading into season one again with hardly any knowledge about the mystery of gravity falls.

Also in a couple episodes like 'Golf Wars' and 'Soos and the Real Girl' The Blindeye symbol could be seen in the background, but you will need a REALLY good eye for that. ((Seriously if your screen's too dark you can't even see the one in 'Soos and the Real girl')
