Ridiculously good, wildly stylish. I found you via omgposters and at the right time as I have started to play with watercolors and your stuff is showing me how to play "outside" the lines. Thank you for the inspiration and the awesome art.

Is this gouache? I love it. Especially the shadow across big Totoro.

Gorgeous work! I love the colors! The watercolors give a sense of looseness and precision at the same time. The stark lighting also gives it so much life.
Too bad that watermark had to ruin things, but actually, I shouldn't blame the watermark. It's the harsh nature of the internet and its "click-save-upload somewhere else" denizens that are to blame. But for now, the watermark shall be my scapegoat. *bonks watermark*

This is beautiful; I love how you bring different aspects of miyazaki's work together. Totoro draws the eye first, then no-face and the little totoros. I especially love how it takes a while to notice the robot as it blends in with the background, which implies trees, while not actually defining them. Above all i like the little kodamas, which you capture perfectly. All in all a very beautiful piece, i would love to be able to buy a print.

Thanks...As I wanted to just put some of Miyazaki's spirits in this piece, I almost didn't include the robot...but I kept picturing it in my mind. The 1st robot we see in the film and the Gardner Robot seemed to be spirit-like themselves...so it really didn't seem out of place, after all, to include it.

I've always thought Miyazaki's characters (especially the spirits)were linked...all part of nature.
