I really like how much there seems to be a story in just this one image. I wonder what the bald dude is there to negotiate about - he seems to be a little far away from his troops.

This has a real story going on and makes me want to find out more of what's going on. Also the actual painting is very well done and has a real sense of the shade, slightly cool under there but feels as if it could be quite hot out in the maybe midday sun out in the open. Feels like a few towns ive been to in RPG's.

No one yet figure out what the cross and gear symbol is? I've been thinking of getting it tattooed.

Nice atmosphere and overall color, although the desaturated white light may be washing things out a little (like on those dials, where the more yellowed ones above look richer, or the leftmost mercenary's forehead).
The only anatomical nitpick I have is the seated figure's finger positions in its right hand (the one holding that device).Β I can't seem to, or it's very difficult, to make that hand position.Β It doesn't look particularly natural to have the lower two fingers that straight and sticking out when the others are grasping; they would usually be curled into the palm, unless the shape of the thing being held is blocking them from doing that (which isn't clear here).

Is it just me, or does the bald guy look a bit like Oslo from the Nickelodeon series "Skyland"? Either way, very nice!
