note that Ruby is based on the Grim Reaper, the master of life and death and her silver eyes give her more power than the Maiden's combined

Pyrrha's voice actor confirmed that she is dead, though she'll be returning to voice other characters.
Ruby is not based on the grim reaper though... She just uses a scythe. The silver eyes don't have more power than a Maiden, or if they do I doubt they can be used as effectively.
