Description Ok so i get asked a lot about how i render my backgrounds plus i've been asked to post wips from the start of a drawing right through to its completion. Elegant Beauty 2 was my choice for this because it covers many of the most asked about things ... Backgrounds, hair and soft blending. Here is part 1 which explains how i draw those backgrounds, i thought i would have a little fun putting it together too. Hopefully my spelling isn't too badΒ Β

Hmmm, I see...Β Β Strathmore 300 seriesΒ Velum surface paper, Faber Castell 9000 series pencils, even chisel edge brush and cotton wool...Β
This is very insightful, Mark. I for one never even thought of using a brush with graphite pencils.Β Β Thank you very much for sharing this!Β Β

You're welcome. Me too, not enough of them on DA. I think everyone should do one at least because every one has something to share and pass on

Cheers Paul, it's mainly a beginner thing to be honest but yes it's always nice to get a peak inside the head ... plus i probably spend more time looking and deciding than actually physically mark making during a session so making a vid or streaming is a waste of time for me, this is the next best thing and it's fun
