Angry Joe fights Corporate Commander. The one responsible for most of the shitty games and bad features in good games. He's even defeated a demonized version of himself from hell multiple times. AVGN is impressive but really sticks with old fashioned games, so I highly doubt he can handle Corporate Commander with modern gaming, like Angry Joe must do to protect the gaming industry. Also since Joe is his own army, he's a trained veteran. And who can forget his force lightning and Kelly Clarkson explosion scream. I think Joe takes the cake. Bugs and bad games back then can't compare to the evil Corporate evilness in games today. Nerd is barely able to get by bad classic games with his sanity, while Joe constantly fights of Corporate in MUCH larger video games. I say Joe is the winner.

Awesome poster! It's a tough call, but I think the Nerd would win this one. Joe may have Force lightning and the anger of the modern gamers, but the Nerd has that cool arsonal and the anger of 80's gamers (they're way scarier than modern ones).

You forget that Joe has an arsenal of his own. If his powers fail he would fall back to pistols, smg's, and assault rifles plus he has the angry army (i'm sure they could implement that as a summon.)

Shoot, i always forget to factor in the power of the pen. Well i guess if you add that in then i'd guess it'd be a pretty close match. Still gotta go with Joe though, he's a bit more of a scrapper than the critic. I mean he fights the corporate commander and his army on a regular basis (yes i am overthinking this and trying to create a storyline in my head). So I think he could take anything the nerd could throw at him as he seems a bit more battle hardened.

Again, SMDC2kbcV4.0B; not to mention the AVGN fans! Joe has many advantages, but you can't beat the original. (Exept for the Dark Knight and Arkham City; both sequels, both awesome!)
P.S. I'm not saying AJ isn't original or unfunny, but he might not be where he is without tgwtg.com, which wouldn't be where it is without the Nostalgia Critic, who wouldn't be where he is without the Nerd because Doug said that James was his inspiration to do NC.

Haha, i wasn't giving AVGN gruff, i was just letting out a bit of my inner nerd (no pun intended) by debating a possible battle between the two (kind of like when i used to debate superman vs Goku).
That said, you are right James Rolfe set the precedent for the angry geek genre of game reviews, but i feel that Joe raised the bar for how those types of reviews should be done. When Joe does a review he goes balls to wall all or nothing. But beyond that Joe was pretty popular even before he partnered with TGWTG.com while he was working solely with blistered thumbs. I say TGWTG.com only increased his already large fanbase.

Oh, I didn't think you were ripping on AVGN. You are a Joe fan and I also love his videos because, as Linkara put it, his videos aren't always funny, but always entertaining.
I'm pretty sure BT is a spinoff of tgwtg. I know Joe was working on youtube.com and Linkara was the one that put in a good word for him and got him his job on the site.

Yeah after our last exchange i looked up more info on blistered thumbs to fact check myself. I was under the impression blistered thumbs was it's own entity and had partnered with TGWTG.com. I didn't realize that BT is actually a subdivision of TGWTG and that Joe was actually, at one point, the head executive of the subdivision. That said, I don't know if Lewis (Linkara) had anything to do with Joe's hiring as all the info i can find states that it was Mike Michaud, Channel Awesome's Chief Exec who contacted Joe. But Lewis could've put in a good reference like you said, i just can't find any info on it. I just recently (within the past two years) found out about angry joe, so i'm still unsure about a lot of what that goes on with TGWTG and BT.
