I'm not a HUGE fan of Japanese animation, but I'll admit this one wasn't too bad. Love to see how NC reacts to this one.
By the way, is it me, or has NC been reviewing a LOT of animated films in a row? Not that that's a bad thing, because I love animated films.

Oh boy. I wonder how dark THIS movie was. And how the Critic reacts to it.

But this was a great film. It has a high cult following, and Rotten Tomatoes gives it about 78%. If he tares the movie up, the fan responses could be as devastating as the Mako reaction.
If that happens, it'll be the fourth time the critic has had a serious problem with his show; he seems to have a fresh problem each year:
1) His videos kept getting taken off Youtube
2) The Mako Reaction
3) The Room getting taken down
4) Depending on the reaction with this review... We'll have to wait and see.

It looks that way. I mean, I love most of his reviews, but this one left me disappointed. I don't care if its a character or not, he should have understood that this is a cult film with around 70% positive ratings on Rotten Tomatoes, and he destroys it. Now anyone who sees it is going to hate it because of his review. It's like when he reviewed Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog; a silly, but funny show, yet he made people look stupid for liking it, then he later said he really likes it... So why did he make a review claiming it was terrible when he's contradicting his own personal opinion. He even said nasty things about Anastasia, Don Bluth's comeback hit, and one of his highest rated movies.
He redeemed himself with the True Grit review, but I wonder what he's got planned tomorrow...

I can't wait for Avatar to be nostalgic. I can see it now. The Critic driving through the big tree in a gas-guzzling muscle car with that evil grin on his face as the blue smurfy cats run in panic. Awesome.

i remember that movie, i saw that at the hospital when i was little. i think it was a good movie. But i can't wait for the NC Review. Finally, some good old memories.

I LOVED this movie as a kid! HOWEVER...
In the early 1980s, both Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata were involved with the film, but they both left due to creative differences, essentially, Miyazaki was not interested in creating an animated film where everything was a dream, and Takahata was more interested in creating a story depicting Nemo's growth as a boy. Miyazaki later described his involvement on the film as "the worst experience of his professional career."
If you manage to make the MOST POPULAR ANIME DIRECTORS IN JAPAN walk off your movie... you fail.

This was the first movie I ever watched and comprehended as a child, as well as the first anime I ever saw. [I didn't realize it was an anime movie until this year, actually!]
It's weird as hell, but I love it. Can't wait to see The Critic's reaction. ;D
