Remember that Futurama reference? It was on the episode "Bendin' in the Wind", right before Bender meets Beck, a robot based on Patch Adams comes in and tells jokes, which Bender hates so much he yells out "OH GOD, SOMEBODY KICK HIS ASS!!!"

I remember I liked this movie. I didn't really like the chick in it. and there was things that I didn't like, but overall i found it to be kinda touching. It's based on a true story, so I guess that adds to it. I'm excited to see what NC has to say about it XD

I barely remember this movie. I thought it was good when I was a kid, because I found Robin William's antics hilarious (and I'm certain I still will).

Doug has said that Robin Williams was one of his major inspirations for his character, so I hope it'll be as painful for him to pan it as it will be for me to watch him pan it.

Wow, ive never seen this movie but im glad i didnt. I mean, taking liberties with real life is one thing, but doing it in poor taste is a toe way out of line. With that said, this is one of his best reviews.

but in all seriousness, one man's opinion cannot decide on the film. Ever since he reviewed "The Cell", he's pretty much convinced half of the internet that Tarsem is a hack (and I'm pretty certain they all agreed after seeing Immortals which was coming out around the time of the review). I've heard speak him at Comic-Con once and he's not like that whole "ask me what it means!" cuckoo that the NC made him into. I really felt that he was being even more rude by bashing the guy's FIRST feature film. Hey, Spielberg's first film wasn't that great either, neither was Scorsese's "Who's That Knocking on my Door" or even Terry Gilliam's (the guy who directed Doug's fav movie "Brazil") first Non-Monty Python film "Jabberwocky" was a box office and critical failure, but you know what? they were just starting out. They had years and over time, they made some of the most well-known movies. So to attack a guy when it's his FIRST feature film, I just have to say, f*ck you Doug. You were being totally rude and yet the only guy to actually say something nice about Tarsem was Oancitizen for his review of The Fall.

Also, how is "The Cell" nostalgic? What kid in 2000 said "hmm, I'm gonna go see this NC-17 movie even there there are all these other films I could be watching right around this time frame." I don't think NC-17 certifies as "nostalgia" when only a select group of people in their adulthood see it.

Nostalgia, refers to memories you remember when you were younger and that give you the feeling of being younger. NC-17 movies do not equal children.

Reviewing "The Grinch", makes sense, "Space Jam" totally, "Rad" I never even heard of, Congo I barely remember, I never even heard of The Cell but I knew of Tarsem from The Fall (and last I checked, the only person to actually say something nice about Tarsem was Oancitizen).

Well, I think he makes some very good points. I mean, turning a male best friend who died into a female love interest who was molested? That's some kind of low.

It's too bad Bitch Spazzums won't be a recurring though.

Oh. My. God. They did that? I remember reading in Mike Nelson's book about the ridiculous molested girlfriend angle in the movie, but I didn't think the writer would sink that low. I gotta see Doug tear this apart, and when he's done, I wanna point him in the direction of a What Dreams May Come DVD.

I just hate maudlin Robin Williams. I said earlier that I'd rather sit through Death to Smoochy, Popeye, and Toys before seeing either of those films.

Not really. Guilty pleasure is a movie that you know its bad but you can still enjoy, as for the "Patch Adams" i see this as a really well made movie, with Great cast and very interesting story, but i still hated it.
