First time I watched this movie, as a small child, I actually enjoyed it, many songs, pretty pictures, and distractions from the movie itself. Then... I grew up and watched it with my little sister. Needless to say, I SUFFERED. Why can't Hollywood let good movies lie. Sequels! *shudder*

I just watched this episode! I have been looking forward to watching it for so long.
Well, at least Timothy and the rest of the Brisby family got better treatment in the fanfics! Maybe I should read one of them.
Only good thing about this movie was that Mrs. Brisby did look cute as an middle-aged woman. :3 But the rest of this movie was just plain suck.

I was unfortunate enough to have watched this movie (a teacher decided to show my class it) , but not the first Secret of NIMH. I think it may be because I hated this movie so much, I didn't bother looking up the first. Apparently that was a poor decision with all the good things I've heard about the first one.

The sequel to one of the Critic's favorite movies. And from his reaction to it at the end of his last video I don't think this is going to go over well.
But I actually liked this movie, I didn't think it was bad.

The first film was a great movie.
The second film was beyond horrible.
Sequels (not made by Bluth except Bartok) to Don Bluth movies should've not been made in the first place. They really don't need a sequel why? Because the first film of the Don Bluth movies from the 80s are great.

I'm with the Critic. The Secret of NIMH was an excellent film and its sequel was a terrible followup. I'm looking forward to NC tearing this film a new one.

In a review he did about a year or two ago; he mentioned that "The Secret of NIMH" was one of his favorite nostalgic movies. But now for him to see a bad sequel based on one of his all time favorite films? It'll drive anyone crazy!

I hadn't seen the first one until very recently (like, last week).
I really quite enjoyed it. That's saying something considering I don't have nostalgia backing up the feel-goods.
Reading up on the history of the film as well, it's amazing how many people who provided voice acting for the cast died within 6 years of its release. Hell, this is Elizabeth Hartman's last ever role. She played Mrs Brisby. She disappeared after this film and years later she appeared in the news saying she was attending a psychiatric hospital. Soon after she threw herself out of a 5th floor window and died.
Hermione Baddeley who played Mrs Shrew died of a stroke in 1986.
John Carradine, the Great Owl, died in 1988 of natural causes.
Paul Shenar who played the villainus Jenner died of AIDS in 1989.
So what better way to memorialise their characters and their acting careers than by making a shitty-ass cheap cash in sequel!!
