Description
The lovable bear of the Banjo-Kazooie video games is now ready for his debut as a LEGO minifigure. Banjo was one of many mini figures I had been hoping to make for a long time, but I had no idea how I was going to make the head work, since it was clear that the classic cylinder-shaped head wouldn't capture Banjo's look. Once I had a good idea of how to use clay for custom heads, I gave it a try, and it turned out pretty nice. I am probably going to update the eyes in the future, as well as upload new pictures once Kazooie is completed. I've determined that I'm probably going to make Kazooie's head from a standard head with clay parts attached, much like Banjo. Once that's done, I'll connect multiple studs to the bottom of the head to create a long neck that depicts Kazooie peeking out from the backpack. Background:
Banjo is a friendly bear residing in Spiral Mountain with his sister Tooty, and his bird friend Kazooie. Unfortunately, he lives next door from a horrid witch named Gruntilda. Gruntilda became jealous of Tooty's youthful appearance, and kidnapped the young bear with hopes to steal her beauty. Kazooie, who overheard the commotion outside, woke up a sleeping Banjo and informed him what happened. The two set out to rescue Tooty from the evil witch's lair. Along the way, they had to retrieve numerous gold puzzle pieces known as jiggies to progress through the witch's huge lair, and received help from a mole named Bottles, and a shaman named Mumbo Jumbo. Over the years, Banjo and Kazooie have faced Gruntilda twice, each ending in an embarrassing defeat for the witch. The duo haven't been seen in several years, for unknown reasons.
