I was invited to do an art challenge by OptimisticJerk and ChasingNitemares . The topic for the challenge was Medusa. I absolutely hate snakes with a fiery passion, but I do love Greek Mythology so I was excited to take part

This actually started out as a, "I'm gonna sketch something quick in 10 minutes and that'll be it".... The original drawing/sketch is actually traditional and is really messy. I ended up really liking the concept and wanted to play with it further so I made it a digital piece. Long story short this was only meant to be a sketch but I had too much fun with it.

I didn't intend to give her a background either... Just lighting, but my husband said she needed more depth so I added the flowers around her.

For the coloring on this one I kind of just listened to the advice of someone I remember from a youtube video. I can't remember who they were for the life of me, but they said, "Don't overthink it. Just do what feels right." So I did :U..... Probably not the best thing to do when you are still learning, but I did enjoy it more that way xD;

Anyway, that is my submission for the Medusa challenge ^-^! Hope you all enjoy.
