Description
The nearby forest fell victim to a flood yesterday after a terrible storm. You decided to go for a swim now that the water has calmed down. You find that the view of the forest underwater is really cool, and dare you say it, beautiful.However, on your little swim, you hear a bubbling sound. When you look in its direction, you see her- a Miqo’te, who evidently had the same idea as you if the black-and-white striped bikini is any indication, has gotten herself stuck under a fallen tree. She’s struggling to free herself and hold her breath, and appears rather distressed. It doesn’t appear she’s noticed you.
So... what do you do?

I’ve seen some RP stuff in the past, and I figured I’d try something along those lines. Now I’m all for having fun, but let’s not get too explicit with your actions. I’ll shut you down if I think it’s going too far.

"Thanks to my medical training, I was able to make a living helping the nearby towns with their sick. And Sarah was always friendly and able to convince the townspeople to help us out when we were in a bind. We were able to do pretty well. Until..." "From my medical books, I found out what had gotten to her. It was a rare disease that came in from traders that pass by here from time to time. It causes a person's body temperature to become so high, they eventually die from overheating. I was desperate to save her. I read what the ingredients were for a cure, but they were rare and hard to get. But I went and tried anyway. I asked Mrs. Evans to watch her while I went out to find them. In my search, I even managed to hurt myself pretty bad." He raises one of his feet and you notice he's missing his small toe. "But I did it. I got the ingredients. I came back home and mixed up the cure. But..." He began to hold himself in his arms and tremble as a tear came down his cheek. "... I screwed up."

"The last ingredient I grabbed... I got the wrong herb." His hands went to his face as tears fell from between his fingers. "The only good thing about what I made... was that it brought her into a deep sleep. She died without pain. At least there's that." He was trying to see the bright side, but even he couldn't be happy about it as he cried. "That's why... I've been training again. To make sure I can save anyone from any illness. And so I never make that mistake again." His voice had more confidence, but his face was still in his hands.

He then hugged her back. "Thank you, Maki. I needed to hear that. No one in town will talk to me about her anymore. And... I needed this. More than I knew." He then looked into her eyes, as if a weight had been lifted. and he noticed how close their faces were to each other and blushed.

He was surprised at first, but he quickly returned her kiss as his arms wrapped around her. He pulled her as close as he could, keeping the kiss going until one of them wanted to end it.

He smiled at her. "Well, I enjoyed it and- Oh crap! the stew!" He let go of her and rushed to to the stove and turned it off. He began inspecting the contents of the pot. "Well... I think it's a bit thick, but it should still be good." He pulled out a couple of bowls and began serving, making sure to remove the rare burned ingredient before placing the bowls on the table. "S-sorry if I missed a burnt piece or two."

"Don't feel too bad. If I'm being honest..." He began to blush as he was about to take his first bite. "... I was about to do the same thing. You beat me to it by a second."

"Actually, there is a different bed I had intended for you to sleep in. I figured you could use something more comfortable than a couch." He smiled as he began to clean the bowls. "Especially for the sake of your ankle."

"I try." He smiled back, then got a mischievous grin. "That way, you'll be close in case I need to check on you overnight." He wondered if she had gotten any ideas from his comment.

He chuckled a little as he heard her answer. "I was kind of hoping for a more surprised reaction. Don't worry, you'll be sleeping in my sister's room." he smiled to her, wanting her to feel at home.

He helped her into the room. When she kissed her, he smiled, clearly enjoying it. "Good night, Maki." He said as she closed the door. He went back to his room and whispered to himself. "I think... I need to tell her how I feel about her." He fell to sleep soon after that.
As the night went on, Maki woke to hear something. Like light moans coming from another room. And crying.

She saw him laying in his bed. He was crying in his sleep as he spoke. “No... Sarah... I’m sorry... Please... Don’t take... Maki...”

Upon hearing her say his name he awoke with a small jump, clearly in panic. Then he saw her and sat up. “Maki? Is something wrong? Are you okay?” He sounded worried but trying to keep himself calm.

He stared at her for a minute, then pulled her in close and hugged her. Clearly, the fear from his nightmare hadn't completely passed yet. "Yeah. Sorry to wake you. I was dreaming that we were out swimming together. And then Sarah showed up. Like a ghost. She said she was so lonely. That... she wanted someone to spend time with." He became quiet, not wanting to say who she was talking about as he held her close.

He looked up at her, his curiosity starting to eclipse his fear. "Really? What was it?" He asked, still a little scared but he had to know.

Upon hearing this, his eyes widened. He stared at her and held her hand. "What... What did this girl look like? Could you tell what color her hair was? Was she wearing anything?"

Upon hearing her say the figure was wearing purple, his face went white. He was clearly scared at this point. He shook his head, then smiled at her. “Well, I’m sure those dreams were probably nothing. If you want, I can help you look for your mom’s ring.” He held her hand as he tried to convince her and himself that the dreams were nothing to fear.

At that, an idea came to Matt, clear on his face. "You know, I might be able to help our chances with finding it." He got up and help your hands. "But you should get back to sleep. And off that ankle. Doctor's orders." She suddenly notices an uncomfortable tingle from her ankle as he began to guide her back to her own bed.

Once he had helped her back to bed, he gave her a kiss on the cheek. "Sleep well, Maki." He said with a smile as he left her room and closed the door. He then proceeded to spend the rest of the night working on something that would help them in finding Maki's mother's ring. He worked until morning. And as Maki woke up, she could hear something going on, but couldn't tell what it was.

You see him at a work desk with his mortar and pestle, a few strange blocks, a pile of herbs, and a large bag beside him. He empties the mortar's contents into the bag, then prepares to reach for a block when you arrive. He looks at you and smiles. "Oh. Hey, Maki. Just working on something for today. Did you sleep well?"

"Yeah. Hopefully, I remembered this right. It should help with finding your ring." He sighed as he got up from his chair. "So, how is your ankle this morning?" She felt it was a little stiff, but didn't hurt anymore.

"Well, hopefully, I remembered what my mother taught me. It's an old prospector trick." Before he could continue, his stomach growled and he smiled, a little embarrassed. "Sorry about that. Care to join me for a quick breakfast?"

He led her to the kitchen and began pulling out some bread, butter and eggs. He grabbed a pan and began to cook the eggs sunny side up. "Would you be able to help make some toast, please?" He said over his shoulder.

Soon, the pair had eggs and buttered toast served and they sat to eat. Matt began to go at his food in a hurry, a bit strange compared to how he ate last night.

He looked at her, confused for a moment, then realizing how fast he was eating. He swallowed his food. "Sorry. I just thought we should get through breakfast quick. Then we can start searching for your mother's ring as soon as possible."
