This was originally sketched in a small book I have, then scanned and brought into Photoshop. Essentially, it is an experiment in coloring. Not exactly the style I envision coloring in yet, but it is a necessary step in evolution. Considering the style, I was pretty satisfied with the results.I borrowed the technique heavily from , and her lovely tutorial. She owns this style so hard.

I've been thinking of investing in a tablet.
Do you really think they are worth it though? (if you don't plan on getting Illustrator)

It depends what you'll be using it for, and if what you need to use it for can actually use it. For illustration and coloring, it is absolutely worth it! The ease of the more natural motions goes along with the muscle memory one has developed or will develop over the years, and the familiarness of a pencil/pen. There is a slight learning curve, but it's pretty intuitive. There is also A LOT more control.
Even for photo editing, I think it's worth it. The increased work flow and productivity alone make it worth every penny.
To tell you the truth, I actually haven't even used it for illustrator (yet). Mainly Painter and Pchop.

Well right now I'm using CS3 & don't have cash for an new tablet and illustrator.
I want to get back into illustration again.
Alot of my classmates in college used one for photo editing and it seemed it was better to use than a mouse for them. I would probably just use it in the Shop for now.
