Wow……this ship looks expensive. What are those yellow part made of?Gold?Or it's just yellow painting?

Most of it is solid gold or gilded, but gold itself isn't quite so rare or expensive considering the sheer number of worlds the imperium can mine for it!

It...it has a leopard patttern on the sides?

Well, I was gonna go for a more brocaded look, but the pixels didn't allow for much complexity there :/

Eh. To be honest, I am not sure if that would have worked for me, even with higher resolution. Not a fan of brocated patterns.

Your local Imperial Navy Forge probably provides custom paint-jobs for the venerable vessels of the Omnissiah! But no worries, other ship designs with non-leopard patterns will come in the future!

I'd guess that a squadron of these would be sent out whenever you absolutely, positively, HAVE to remind that particular hive overlord that he shouldn't delay in his taxes

Indeed! And they might create a special little fireworks display to remind them too!

I also like how the silhouette of the ship is similar to that of the Venquisher class, like it was based off of the design pattern. When itf it's not intentional, I do really like how you can take advantage of the versatility of 40K imperial ship aesthetic and craft numerous fleets with distinct styles, designs, cultures and feel to them, yet have them all be recognizable as Imperial.

I do love that part of imperial ship design as well. it's so recognizable yet malleable. Kind of like the Saucer/Nacelle configuration of Star Trek vessels or the triangular/bridge combination in Star Destroyers.

Much use of gold and yellow colours: Check
over the top artistic looks: Check
Divine grandeur: Check

Yep that's Trantor alright!

Anyway that's a beautiful render of a starship, how did you replicate the patterns?

Martechi In reply to Leximoor [2019-03-03 09:09:54 +0000 UTC]

Well, the entire design is done in MS paint, so it's really just the most basic copy&paste of detailing.
