Malyavr Station was built far out by the Nadravest System Gate, one of multiple fleet bases to be established during the last expansion of Terran space. At the time it was considered no more remarkable than any other outpost of its kind, an anchorage for the guardian fleets and staging round for further joint expeditions. Only when the first expedition fleet vanished without a trace could high command guess at Nadravest's eventual strategic importance.

Five years after its initial deployment, Malyavr Station is the centerpiece of a vast system-wide defense, the Terran Mandate's foremost bulwark at the gates of Confluence space. What began as one humble outpost has become a formidable fortress of the frontier, homeport to large fleet groups and dedicated guardian forces constantly watching the grand structure of the system gate.
