Description Trilithon, the star system of the rising henge, contains one of the most important xeno-archeological sites in Terran space. It encompasses three remnant megastructures of the Lifeseeders and the remains of a massive interplanetary infrastructure connecting them. Outside of the System Links forming the Serpent Chain itself, these are some of the largest and most complex Lifeseeder remains known to humankind.

Beyond the ancient remains, there are ten planets in the Trilithon system. The inner five are terrestrial worlds, two of which have the potential to support life, though none is an earth-analog. Of the outer five, four planets are ice giants, with Narodnaya being the sole gas giant in the system. It stands out due to its large ring system and its many moons have been the focus of early efforts to colonize the outer Trilithon system.

Astrography
System Links

The star system Trilithon is located on the edge of Terran Space, between the central colonies of Wayfare and the frontier of the Equilibrium system. Trilithon's two system links are powered and maintained by the original Lifeseeder infrastructure that was extensively repaired and modified by an unknown extraterrestrial species. Since the beginning of Terran colonization, the Mandate has begun to gradually replace the ET modifications with human infrastructure and fortifications. This project is still ongoing and fuels a lot of activity in the inner system.

Menhirs
Three massive, nearly identical structures in orbit around Trilithon's star form the core of the Lifeseeder remnants beyond the system links. Each is surrounded by an exclusion zone under the direct authority of the Terran Mandate. Similar to the Condominium Antarctica, these zones are considered sovereign territories outside the jurisdiction of each of the major Terran Mandate powers. Outside of joint research bases and expeditions, access to the Menhirs is severely restricted.

While theories about the purpose of the Menhirs are abundant, little to no findings from these sites were made public.

Sectors

Trilithon Core Sector

The core sector marks the extent of fortified Terran space in the star system Trilithon. It encompasses the system links and Lifeseeder sites of the innermost system, as well as four of the terrestrial planets. The sector is itself divided into subsectors and administrative territories under the governance of individual Terran powers. Some exceptional territories, such as the Lifeseeder Menhirs and the System Links themselves are under the control of international proxies of the Mandate.

The core sector is well developed, harboring many spaceborne outposts and colonies, as well as developed asteroids and planetary settlements on its four worlds. Trade between the colonies is avid and extends through the System Links even to interstellar destinations. As a hub of scientific activity, the core sector also attracts expeditions and investments from powers not directly represented in the system, fueling a thriving economy.
As the Terran Mandate pushes toward further expansion in the Equilibrium system and even past that, the importance of Trilithon as an intermediate stop has only been amplified.

Desha
This scorched world's orbit is synchronized with that of the three Menhirs and surrounded by extensive infrastructure. Debris fields of orbital installations and evidence of massive strip-mining operations indicate its significant role in the megastructure of this system.

Casimir
Extreme tectonic activity frequently breaks this planet's crust, leaving continental plates drifting on fresh lava seas at an unprecedented pace. The orange glow of lava rifts can be seen even through the turbulent atmosphere of this world, fueled by unrelenting volcanic activity.
Casimir is home to numerous industrial colonies and mining operations, including the largest planetary mass-driver of the system.

Vorsash
In stark contrast to Casimir, Vorsash is a tectonically inactive world, stripped almost entirely of its atmosphere. The barren surface attracted a sizable population of settlers building agricultural hubs, deep mantle mining operations, and the system's foremost biochemical industry. Glowing webs of newly established infrastructure easily stand out on the dull grey surface, even from space.

Vesa
The largest terrestrial planet of the system is the closest to an Earth analog, holding a significant electromagnetic field and non-toxic atmosphere. On a geological timescale, the planet was highly tectonically active until relatively recently, leading to adverse surface conditions and a toxic atmosphere. It is believed massive deposits of toxic substances are still relatively loosely bound in many of Vesa's emerging oceans.
Native life on the planet is limited to early multi-cellular organisms in the oceans. However, there are hints that a non-native biosphere may have inhabited the planet in the past.

Vesa is home to a major colony of the Dervish. Trading posts of the Allied Powers of Pan-Europa and later the British Dominions marked the first Terran presence in the world. Now, it is home to several growing colonial states and was the site of some of the system's most serious tensions between Terran Mandate powers.

Seven Centaurs

Between Narodnaya and the inner system, many centaurs were colonized by varying Terran powers, both directly and through proxy nations establishing themselves in interplanetary space. The seven largest colonies are colossal complexes of interconnected habitats, expanding their sphere of influence through networks of mining operations and smaller outposts. Of the seven, four belong to the Last Commonwealth of Terra, whereas the other three are more closely aligned with the Pan-European powers. Between their highly developed subsectors, there remain many unclaimed and developing asteroid bodies. Now that the Commonwealth's efforts towards Narodnaya have been removed, the Seven Centaurs experience a new surge of activity.

Narodnaya System
The largest planet and sole gas giant of the Trilithon system are Narodnaya, distinguished by its large ring system and nine major moons. In total, the Narodnayan system contains more than seventy independent bodies outside the ring system.
The planet itself is notable for maintaining one of the calmest atmospheres among known gas giants. This leaves a particularly large habitable zone within the mid-layers of the planet's outer spheres, where the largest colonies were planned.

Despite its premier conditions for settlers and many promising resource deposits among its moons, Narodnaya never experienced the same strong influx of settlers that the inner system held. This can be attributed in large part to the lingering presence of several Confluence client factions, which held on for more than a decade after the Confluence abandoned the system.
While any organized Confluence faction in the Narodnaya system has been neutralized, remnant cells may still exist in hidden bases, leaving the region a dangerous territory.

Sendar Gulf
Ahead of the main concentration of Centaurs on this side of the star, the Sendar Gulf is a largely empty interplanetary region. An outward colony by the Celestial Empire was founded here in anticipation of the development of Narodnaya and serves now as a premier trading partner for the Last Commonwealth in bordering sectors.

Anahradawi
Devoid of major interplanetary bodies, Anahradawi has received few claims by any of the Mandate powers. However, several trading routes of some significance cross this sector from Anahrad, Casimir, and Vorash.

Narodnaya's Trojans

The trojans of Narodnaya are spread wide along its orbit around the sun, culminating in a large asteroid field with many potential colonization candidates. Development of this sector has been relatively slow owing to the lower priority of the outer system overall, but two major colonies of Nusantara and Terra Del Santa Cruz are competing for further outward claims.

Anahrad Sector
Anahrad is a turbulent ice giant without any moons. It is likely not native to the Trilithon system and was stripped of a considerable amount of its atmosphere when it first approached the star. What remains is a uniquely concentrated mixture of rare gases, raging in perpetual storms. With no surface to speak of, the colonies of this world are massive floating facilities drifting in the upper atmosphere, sending smaller outposts on tethers deeper down.
Besides producing fuels and precious synthetics on a massive scale, Anahrad is an important trading port between the inner and outer Trilithon systems.

Sillerstin Reach
Bordering the Thellas Strait and Exclusion Zone, Sillerstin Reach has been only cautiously explored and there is no major permanent civilian presence there. The sector is still being closely monitored for any remnant Confluence activity but is of low priority for further settlement.

Thellas Strait

Aside from the bases of Narodnaya, Thellas was the last organized stronghold of the Confluence in the Trilithon system. It is unclear whether this was an intended bastion or whether a client species merely found itself stranded in this region of space once the System Link was taken over by the Terran Mandate.
During the early years of the Terran's presence, three major attacks on the inner system were launched from here, until the final counter-offensive led by the Last Commonwealth subjected the lunar bases of Thellas to concentrated bombardment.

The planet itself is a gas giant harboring more than twenty moons. It is notable for a greenish hue, due to a unique elemental concentration in the upper layers.

Providence Belt
The second-largest concentration of bodies in the inner asteroid belt of Trilithon is known as Providence Belt and an avid trade- and mining region between Vesa and Nadashi. A massive colonial initiative in this sector was strongly supported by the British Dominions, leading to the establishment of many closely allied proxies in the area. With commercial success came also an increased interest in unsavory elements. Privateers and smuggling activity is comparatively high among these stations.

Gasad Nahandir
Gasad Nahandir is a large interplanetary sector beyond which lies only the Thellas Exclusion zone. The sector is largely empty, with a few outposts reserved for military use in monitoring the outermost system.

Versson Territories
The Versson Territories thrive on the growth and activity of Nadashi and Dawson's Ridge. As the development of the inner system reaches a pivotal point, outward expansion becomes more attractive for new and coming nations. Both Vasavere and Karnhum favor some trajectories crossing the Versson Territories. Consequently, although the development of the region is quite low, many foundations for future colonization projects have already been laid.

Nadashi Sector
Slightly smaller than Vesa and without surface oceans, Nadashi appears notably less habitable. At first glance, it may even appear as a barren world, but this impression is proven wrong quickly upon closer examination. Nearly thirst percent of the northern and southern hemispheres of this world are covered beneath gargantuan polar caps. Moreover, these show signs of significant tectonic and oceanic activity underneath. Both seal off great saltwater oceans, in which the most complex native lifeforms of the Trilithon system survive.
The two complex and entirely independent biospheres of Nadashi have generated a great deal of scientific interest, attracting the largest colonies on the planet. Smaller settlements have been creating a network of infrastructure across the planet, including several population centers around space elevators along the equator.

Dawson's Ridge

A planetary collision in the distant past has left the Trilithon system with a sizable inner belt of asteroids. Spanning roughly between the orbits of Vesa and Desha, the region with the highest concentration of rocky bodies is known as Dawson's Ridge.
Situated outside the regions where the Terran Mandate exerts direct control, the Ridge became a lucrative frontier for entrepreneurs, independent prospectors, and other fortune seekers. They founded a large number of smaller settlements of stations, close enough to enjoy the protection of the Terran Mandate but just far enough out of reach to retain their independence.

Far Hunting Grounds
The Far Hunting Grounds encompass an asteroid field under the influence of Narodnaya. Rich in ice and minerals alike, this would be a premier candidate for colonization. What sets this sector apart is a series of reported sightings describing massive artificial, even organic signatures inhabiting this outer asteroid field.
As of yet, there has been no credible comprehensive survey of the region to deny or confirm the myths of void-borne megafauna, but as humanity expands further along the Serpent Chain, news of similarly strange discoveries lend credibility to the claims in Trilithon.

Nossat
The Nossat is a frontier sector strongly claimed by the Pan-European nations. A major colony serves as the hub for extensive mining and industrial activity throughout this interplanetary space. The extend of this outpower network has been the cause of several disputes within the Terran Mandate, and the claims of the Pan-Europeans are not universally recognized. As the importance of Narodnaya is elevated once again, these tensions are cause for some diplomatic concern.

Vivid Void
The outermost sector beyond the Narodnaya System is known as the Vivid Void, noted for showing activity and signatures attributed to far-reaching elements of Lifeseeder infrastructure. Remote mining operations, mass driver lanes, and unidentified outposts have been found in various systems of the Serpent Chain. Due to their remote location and the sheer number of finds in Terran space alone, few survey and research programs focusing on these small remnants have ever been conducted.

Helena's Deep
The largest outer sector of system Trilithon is Helena's Deep, marking the largest empty region. Few interplanetary bodies were marked for expeditions in this region and during the last two decades, it has largely gone ignored.

Thellas Sigma Exclusion Zone
Following the last push against planet Thellas and its cells of Confluence Remnants, the last remains of their forces were pushed beyond the planet's sector to the fringes of Trilithon. Several retreating formations of enemies were confirmed at the time, but could not be tracked successfully. While the chance for an organized resurgence was considered minimal by the Terran Mandate, it could not be entirely excluded. Consequently, a closely-knit surveillance perimeter was established throughout this sector and remains a tactical priority for the navies of this system. Regular joint patrols have also become an important diplomatic duty for all nations involved.

Karnhum Sector
The outermost planet of Trilithon is virtually untouched by humanity. The latest expedition was sent by the Dervish and carried a delegation of Terran scientists in an unprecedented cooperative venture. It revealed astounding finds of ancient relics on the giant's moons, buried under kilometers of ice. While the dating of these ruins is still not conclusive, it is believed they may predate even the Lifeseeders.

Vasavere Sector
The furthest Terran outpost of Trilithon is located on the first moon of Vasavere, far removed from the remaining settled regions. The ice giant shares many similarities with Sol's Neptune and similarly features some of the strongest winds of the entire star system. Its moons are covered mostly in ice and bear signs of tangential life seeder activity.

Vasavere Frontier
Several dwarf planets of some interest are located in the far void beyond Vasavere. Out of reach of current Terran ambitions, they are nonetheless on the mind of several strategists and prospectors looking to the future of the Trilithon system. Eventually, those bodies might form the core of a thriving spaceborne colony, from which the deep space deposits of rare matter and ancient comet cores could be exploited. Expeditions into these regions thus far have been mostly symbolic, gathering important surveying data but not enough to fully assess the opportunities presented out there.

Unnamed (5)

Several areas of system Trilithon remain outside of all designated sectors, typically for legal or diplomatic reasons. While often romanticized as law-less frontiers where piracy and independent communes thrive, they are practically not different from most low-priority subsectors.
