I'm a furry---I accept a lot of things ...but I don't accept 'Jellystone' as a reboot: 'Jellystone' a new thing entirely, and its cast is also new.

A proper reboot has to bear some meaningful semblance to its source material. All these characters have in that respect is window dressing---they have names and likenesses of some classic HB characters (can't lose that marketability!), yet stray so far from the originals that I have to say they're different characters.
For example, if one wants to reboot a franchise like, say, 'Ghostbusters', the reboot would have to be about the capture of troublesome ghosts, by persons hired to deal with them. The events of the reboot may or may not be connected to those of the original; it may have a fresh cast, take place in a different time and/or location, or even be presented from the perspectives of the ghosts, etc; it's obliged to be different.
However, a *hypothetical 'Ghostbusters' reboot would still have to be 'Ghostbusters' at its core---it couldn't be about (say) competitive cake-baking ...because that'd would be a separate thing entirely

Oh, yeah, we're gonna write about this! D:

SPOILERS: I really don't care for this 'Jellystone' series, but I don't think it's bad ...per se.

Let's begin with the visual style...

The characters look as though they came from the stylus of some 14-y/o DeviantArter with 'Toons' in their username. The style isn't 'bad'---it's obvious the animators know how to draw (which is more than I can say of myself), but I really cannot get behind how soulless the characters look.

Take Boo-boo for instance: sta.sh/02fgzlwiygac

He bears a similar countenance as that of a dead fish on ice at the market.
And no I didn't select an unflattering screenshot---the entire cast either looks either dead-eyed and/or very, very dumb (I can't even tell what some of them are looking at here): sta.sh/01bprb96nz3z

...and, yes, TopCat is twerking (I suppose I'd look away, too)

As for the concept of 'Jellystone' itself, it's another of those throw-every-franchise-we-own-at-the-screen-at-once concepts which is either hit or miss.

The crossover aspect about 'Jellystone' doesn't bother me: HB has done similarly before, with series such as 'Laff-a-Lympics', 'Yogi's Gang', and so forth (and these were fine).

I feel crossovers work best when the included franchises/characters have similar themes (Scooby-Doo with Batman, for example) and/or have no reasons to be incompatible (it's not hard to imagine Snagglepuss and Wally Gator existing in the same zoo, mere blocks away from Magilla Gorilla's home at the pet store).
Granted, pairings like Ricochet Rabbit with Yogi Bear are a bit hard to reason (Yogi is a modern forest animal expected to behave as such; Ricochet has a job ...and is from the 19th century), but (again) I've accepted such from HB before.

...Even so, Johnny Quest alongside Top Cat alongside Captain Caveman really doesn't work ...and regardless who they're paired with here, Jabberjaw is both a literal and figurative fish out of water!

Anyway...

I didn't absorb too much of the writing present in 'Jellystone', albeit, the sample platter I received was nothing fresh: quasi-intelligent, cynical characters playing off too-dumb-to-live ones, within scripts replete with film/media references and meta-humor. *yawn*

Personally, I think 'Jellystone' should have been a spin-off series akin to what 'Tiny Toons' was to 'Looney Tunes'.

This is a 'Mikado' pencil from Eagle Pencil Co. I mentioned this pencil in an earlier upload that featured its twin: the familiar 'Mirado' pencil.

The name 'Mikado' means 'a Japanese emperor'. The 'Mikado' pencil was renamed during WWII after the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
Based on its *plain font and metal ferrule, the 'Mikado' featured here must be a very late model, as the re-named version featured the **same font and a paper ferrule (metal was rationed during wartime).

*older 'Mikado' pencils have a sword-slash font. They are beautiful pencils, but I've not found one at a reasonable price (as of writing).

**extremely early and valuable versions of the 'Mirado' pencil simply had a line made on the top of the 'K' on the stamp press, creating the illusion of an 'R'---that's how hastily the change was made! ^^
My guess is the font for the 'Mikado' was exclusive to that pencil, hence an 'R' stamp didn't exist ...and as metal was being rationed, an 'R' stamp couldn't be produced (the 'K' stamp may've been melted and reformed into an 'R', but I really don't know---just speculating here).

I drew Loopy via a Wallace 'Swift' pencil, and delineated him via the featured 'Mikado', as I bought it pre-sharpened ...and yes, I ruined Loopy's ear (but I digress).
The 'Mikado' has exactly the same graphite formula as the 'Mirado', and so boasts the same level of (above-average) quality. :3
