Description
Going against all of the craziness that has been running rampant through out the creative comic book community, I was asked to do a commission on Power Girl and Krypto like the Coppertone Girl. This is in copic warm, cool and neutral grey. I'm liking where this is going. Next, I'll be painting this in photoshop for the finishing touches. I wanted to place this up here as is because I really like the work on it.Huge fan of Power Girl in her original costume.

Dude awesome, I know I can't always keep up with commenting on everyone's work who I'm watching, but I had to come out and give kudos for this. Gawd I'm so irritated about that new Power Girl design

No worries. I feel the same way. The thing that people didn't get about Power Girl was that, yes she was sexy, but she was also VERY confident and knew exactly what she was doing by having the costume that she had. I think that's what appeals to the women that cosplay as her. Confidence and beauty tied into a strong package is appealing to anyone who is a comic book reader.

I know right!? But then I'm just appalled by some "fans" on the CBR message boards upon this announcement stating, "Hooray, now I can take her seriously since she's no longer showing skin!" And I'm just thinking..."WTF?" because Superhero comics are meant to be read with complete suspension of disbelief IMHO It goes back to that JMS Wonder Woman run where fans became divided all cause they actually liked her in pants and a jacked punching faceless G-men in pursuit of her and her people, which just made her more into Trinity form the Matrix

Yeah. I'm going to miss Power Girls suit.
It's a shame. But that's why I do my own book. I can say where that book goes and what the characters look like while still listening to my readers.

I would like to make a print out of it. But with the crazy legal stuff that is going on at Marvel (I'm pretty sure DC will follow at some point), I'm afraid that I would make a print of this and get hit with legal papers. I really would like to include this into a portfolio or sketch book. But, hell, that's even hard now.

That said, I'm going to have to do another version of this that is slightly different. The original idea was a bit different and the commission holder wants to be closer to that original idea. That's not a problem. I get to keep this one for myself. lol. I'll post the other up here as soon as I finish it.

Yeah. I may be doing an alternate version to this. I'm really happy with how this turned out. This will be my go to Power Girl unless someone specifically asks for the new version.
