Description
Something on the lighter side... I was just looking at different ways that photoshop effects and blending options work with each other... and this happened... Obviously there's more refinement than just two or three effects... but the gist is I got that rocky texture against blue, and augmented it with more effects, filters, blending options, several gradient maps, and a couple of brushed elements.Dunno what I'm gonna do with this, I'm currently working on some grasses to add to it and eventually i want to do a fully realized character/s to exist in this bright wonderful world... I kept working it because the brightness just gave me this rush of nostalgia for gameboy games and exploring the woods...

this is awesome
it reminds me of a sea shore but in 2 different perspectives . the blue top water and underneath the the particular sandy rocky pattern we see under water in tropical waters. Its really interesting in this piece because i seam to look at it in the opposite way.
or i dont know if you ever seen any images or you even done it your self, but it looks also like we are inside the water but in the rocks inside the cavern we see the air pocket trapped in the sealing. it reminds me much of it.
the sphere patterns are really awesome ,it seams that it can be even greener to indicate the lichen on the rocks.
Anyways over all its really great , i cant wait to see what you will come up with in this piece at the end.

That's really not a bad idea! I could probably overlay a dissolved gradation of saturated green onto the coastal facing rocks and gaussian blur it at a single pixel radius to blend it in as if it was growing alge! I was really also thinking about dodging a radial RGB gradient into the image somewhere, to simulate a rainbow too. Rainbows go with everything! I was working on some kind of turtle shell (because honestly, I don't think there is a person alive who dislikes turtles.) although... up close, they're not so cute.
Thanks for the suggestion and I do sort of see what you mean about the reverse surface texture of the air against water, when you're eyes are submerged. It's incredible that you would see that.

Looks really great so far, I like what you're doing with the water.
Takes me back a bit & I love the blue.

Thanks. I'm still not sure how i'm going to finish it, but I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes it.

Of course, it seems well received. Keep experimenting with it.

Oh that is really weird, it looks like a screenshot from a Nintendo64 game or something! It really looks rendered! Very impressive

technically it is... I never learned to "paint" digitally, so all of my digital work is done with linear and radial gradients and special effects. I'm playing with a turtle shell for it now... the hypothetical foliage is really challenging me.
Thanks for the kind comment.

No worries
Oh man, that flies over my head, I only know the secrets of the fill tool on MsPaint
I find photoshop intimidating

oh! sorry... It's not that intimidating... you could do the same thing you do with MSP and more with photoshop. I'd be glad to help if you ever change your mind.
