Description
This is a contest entry for the contest for myths, fairies, and dark gothic creatures in the style of the beautiful Ayami Kojima.I drew a creature inspired by Frankenstein, and used inspiration from her more famous works in order to incorporate her typical vines, rose thorns, and flowers with blood.
The man's body's being torn up by a water nymph, which is a creature very famous in the Slavic regions of Europe. The creepy-faces woman's typical for Japan, and is a spider demon, usually disguised as a woman. The mask was simply there to add to the grotesque factor.
So, I used one of the creatures that I'm sure she loves, Frankenstein's Creature, in order to add some of the beauty and gore element typical to her, a nymph for the more gentle aspect of her art, and a spider woman, for diversity in the mythological aspect of this.
This is also for , because sometimes, certain people just crawl into us, and rip us open and exposed. Whether that's good or bad, who knows.

I really like the colors you used they really look good. and the roses are gorgous. One of the eyes is a little crooked or something but it doesnt look like you ment it to be that way. Everything else is great execpt for that one eye.

Dude, That's fuckin' rad.
The red and yellow sets a somber, almost antiquated mood about the piece, and I especially love the way you've got so many homages to Miss Kojima's works.
Still, this piece could use a leather trenchcoat and some winged fetuses.

Aha! You noticed the fact that I payed attention to the stuff that she uses!
I just laughed at your signature again....
anyway! WHERE THE HELL YOU BEEN!!!?!?!?! >: ( I have heard naught from you regarding the site, and the progress on it! It's a crying shame y'know! You have two good artists offering time into it, and you're not taking advantage of it! Don't make whoop-ass with my Castlevania Konami whip on your ass.
Still, just joking around. Make sure that you do get back into it, because I can't wait to make more illustrations by order of who you want me to draw! Meowmistress is probably in the same boat! So, talk tae mii, boeh!
Nice to hear from you again!

The only thing holding me back on the website is getting hold of a new credit card. Once I've got the dough in hand though, The bread is as good as baked. Should be some time this month that we see magical things happen in the world of deviant Castlevania fansites. Wait, it's the twenty ninth... Make that NEXT month... Soon, in any case.
By the by, do you have a color version of "The Cellist" that I could use in the music section of the site? It would fit like none other

I love how the vine has gone right through his insides...and even though he's being torn apart, his face has no expression, or maybe one can just call his face 'serene'....it's as if he has no feeling...and...and...and...*clicks on full view* O.O Wooooow....*drools*
I have to say one advantage of dA is that I can see some of your art anytime I want...

The vine through his stomach is....like...his sorrow. Y'now what I meen man? Sriosly!
His facial expression is indeed....serene, but I personally see more malice in his eyes than peace. The serene one was Charletaine....now he was .....happy....

Yeah, his face is calm, but it's sort of like any minute he could make hell break loose... or as if he's planning a vindictive vengeance... I don't know. Either way, BEAUTIFUL artwork!

In depth? Me? I know next to nothing about art; just whether I think it's pretty or not and why (though the 'why' is the most difficult to explain, because sometimes it's quite wordless...)...

Thoughtfulness is a necessity in a contest! Otherwise, why bother entering if you don't even know what you're doing?
I'm flattered that you recognize my effort!

I love how much action is going on, it's very entertaining and appealing to the eye. I love your warm toned pictures, but this is so violently colored it defiantely qualifies as hot. I'm really attached the eyes; they are very feline and honey-colored and really draws attention to the heart of the picture. I haven't seen anything like this from you in a while! I was missing your grosteque style, even if it does scare everyone else away.

Your comments are truly just tickling my tum-tum right now! I feel giddy reading this!
I put a loot of work into this, and it's nice to see that there's solid recognition for the tiny detail and the overall balance and flow that went into this. Merci!

I have a nasty addiction to pleasing you... not to offend anyone else who comments, but artist's do like people to expalin why they like something about thier piece... it sounds much more sincere. Did you finish reading that thing I sent like 2 months ago?

Marto In reply to Sevigne [2007-08-04 17:30:21 +0000 UTC]
Pleasing me?! :squeal: OMG, I'm so excited! SEXY TIME!!!!
You're right though, I personally prefer people to explain themselves, regarding anything. I mean, it's nice for people to actually say what they mean every once in a while instead of '...I like it a lot...'
