Btw, I've been using the camera's manual mode (auto-ISO) for some time now and it's great! And I'm slowly starting to let go of auto focus too.Β
Man, I tell ya, manual focussing is so much easier on a camera monitor than it is while using a viewfinder. Maybe I'll get used to it in time.

This is an excellent thing to do. We really need to learn how to operate these cameras with our eyes closed...that would prepare us for just about anything. I'm not one for Auto ISO...never used it. I prefer to set my own according to the lighting at hand. In low light or low contrast situations.....auto focus takes too long in its hunt for focus. Many times in those situations by the time it finds it "the shot" is gone. I'll use continuous focus many times. This allows you to trip the shutter whether the image is in focus or not....something is better than nothing. And of course with manual focus...you can zone focus (pre-focus) a scene and wait for the action to enter it.
