I've been meaning to do a reference sheet for each one of my characters for ages and have finally got around to doing it. This guy especially needed one, as he has the most complicated design out of all my characters

Name: Daybreak

Age: 8 years old

Height: ~16hh

Breed Description: Daybreak comes from a sub-species of ordinary horses that was closed off from the rest of the world for thousands of years. They live mostly in caves and only come out at night to hunt. Due to scarse vegetation in their homeland, these horses have evolved (or devolved? ) into hunters and, therefore, have canine fangs. They use their horns for fighting and intimidating their enemies. Their eyesight is generally pretty weak, due to them living in the dark, however, their sense of smell and their hearing is very well developed.

Mane and tail: long and straight, tends to be a lighter shade of their coat colour.

Ears: always large, but just as flexible as those of a normal horse.

Horns: males have longer horns that are slightly curved, females have smaller ones. The horns are always the same colour as the hooves (generally grey/brown)

Coat: ranges from light to really dark grey, most shades of brown and even a kind of dark green-ish colour that Daybreak has.

Background story: Daybreak himself was captured by humans and made into a war horse, as these type of horses are incredibly strong and can also be used as a weapon, since they get aggressive when intimidated (those teeth hurt! ). The armor he wears somewhat restricts his movement, so that he can't throw off his rider so easily (and he like doing that alot!). Daybreak generally comes across as the 'bad guy' but really all he wants to do is to be able to get back to his herd. However, he has no idea that all the others of his breed were also captured and are now scattered across continents also serving as war horses or cross-bred with ordinary horses to try and eliminate the downsides of the breed, such as poor eyesight.

Personality: very strong, determined, bit of a loner, has problems with authority, always does what he thinks is right, never gives up.
