What makes it different from the others, to me, is how it's not focused on conventional romance. Actually I've read somewhere that there'll be routes with abusive relationships clearly portrayed as abusive. You start distrusting absolutely everyone and at least in the demo, the only barely trustworthy character isn't a love option LOL

I mean, look at this gal, she's one of the love interests and yes, she gives this creepy vibe in the game. Talking to her made me uneasy every time, and I'm pretty sure I caught her contradicting herself at least once.

Extra points for making me take a dumb decision too.
Like when you shout at a character from a horror movie not to do something because it's obviously a trap, then they do it anyway and you get angry because they're so dumb. That's me watching horror movies and with this game, I acted exactly like a horror movie character. It was so obviously a trap, but the game had convinced past me that I could handle it.
