I really like this. I would say 'I have no idea why', but I'm not that lazy at the moment.

It's not really the artwork I like, but the idea. I'm starting to get into these characters I've made, though I'm really not sure if such scandelous things will happen in their stories.

What exactly is going on in this picture? Well, before you read on, try and look at everything in the picture and then make up your own conclusion. Then read on and see how close you were to mine ---->

You see, this started out as just a younger Ms. Bunny standing in the rain, but then somehow I got the idea that Mr. Honeybump was standing behind her. Then it just sort of fell together.
Obviously they're both sort of dressy, and so what I think probably happened was that maybe they went to a 'forest friends' dance together and then were shunned by the other animals because...obviously, they aren't the same species. Then Bunny runs off into the rain (just like a movie! XD) and stops to tell Honeybump that he should give it up and go find a bear to be with.

My sister took a look at this and thought that Honeybump had feelings for Bunny that weren't returned. That could also be the case.

I was just messing around anyway. I like the idea that this is simple cutsey artwork yet it has something that could perhaps be considered dark or very uncute underneath it.

Maybe I'm just a weirdo.

BAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Sorry... I'm very much into the classic film era. I pictured this in black and white with Bogart the Bear and Bunny Bergman. Gold!

Wow.. change the color scheme to b&w and it could definitely pass for a really old, dramatic film! If old, dramatic films had cutesy forest animal friends, that is.

Hey, that's a great idea!

I'm lucky to have you around. I have decided that you will make all my decisions for me, henceforth.
Nah, I'm joking. I just wanted to use 'henceforth' in a sentence.

But that is a very very good idea.

Haha, even better! You didn't even know it was supposed to be a movie and yet you still thought it looked like one. XD I guess I did something right.

Awwh, I loved it!
Something about the simplicity of artwork that... doesn't make it weird to have such interesting meanings to it... the lines are all so smooth and geometric that it kind of conveys the emotion cleanly. Or something... it's hard to explain...
But I loved the caption. What it struck me as was, however she realised it, bunny had to break it off between them because of the species thing....
I love the distance between them and the arrangement... lovely not that scandalous. Or at least their cuteness seems to make it ok...

Marzipanapple In reply to Trillzey [2005-07-06 03:41:32 +0000 UTC]

I'm glad! I wasn't sure if someone else would like it considering I haven't really said much about the characters yet. Though really, I don't know that much about the characters yet. I'm still figuring it out, so everyone who sees this is pratically figuring all this out right when I do.

I was wondering about the distance/spacing, so I'm happy to hear you think that's ok. Haha, and that's also what I was going for: strong human emotions conveyed by cutsey animals. I wonder how far I could push it until it's not cute anymore. >_<

Trillzey In reply to Marzipanapple [2005-07-10 01:40:35 +0000 UTC]

Well... if you push it with confidence and finesse then you can go anywhere. When you start to kind of go, "I don't know if this will be too much.." it will kinda show and maybe not work as well. Cutesey animals can convey a lot though
